Is this hole original? If so,what is it for? Appreciate any help. Thanks
Would that be correct for a 71? This wheel was from a 71 New Yorker.Early wheels were retained by lug bolts and the hub and had a locating pin that registered with the hole in the rim. Lindsay
I have 5 of these wheels and it's the only one that has the holeNot unusual. Could have been to index with a dowel to help locate the wheel against something else, where location was important in the production process.
Guessing it's a spare and hole is to mount the jack,or secure the wheel in the trunk
I don'kno... does the wheel have the Pentastar and other related Mopar size numbers?Guessing it's a spare and hole is to mount the jack,or secure the wheel in the trunk
Pre-56. LH threads on LH pf the vehicle.Early wheels were retained by lug bolts and the hub and had a locating pin that registered with the hole in the rim. Lindsay
In looking for a wheel for my 69 I found that the 69s didn't have the hold but the 70s did on the same wheel (by part number)
Alan
My 4 matching wheels are made by Motor Wheel with 7 digit part number. The 5th wheel with hole is Kelsey Hayes. I'll get pics of stampings.
