I was wonderin what was happenin to this post, I guess its still for sale then. I wonder if Trev has it out there as an “I don’t need to sell it but make an offer” type thing.

    The Servprolara

I too wish him well. The car seems to be pretty popular Wyatt, so I think he should have no problem selling it. I think he will sell it rather quickly

    The Servprolara

He said 18,900 in a comment to someone asking a price. I wish him well. He certainly has a bigger following. Its still a green small block wagon.

    She sees daylight!

Are you going back with vinyl top? The roof on my 300 looks about like that but I’m thinking of fixing/patching and going back with body cooler. I don’t see many gold 68’s out there without a vinyl top. It will be good to see yours together and back on the road for sure!

Wanted Advice On 383 Big Block

Hi ok, Yes sorry I mean valley pan gasket. The fact all of a sudden the valley pan and dipstick pushed oil out made me think too much pressure in crankcase. I checked the PCV Valve it’s fine Did a compression test too all between 110-125psi which seems consistant, I thought it was a little low...

    Wiring

Well the pawl or comb is worn out. Looks like someone tried to adjust it in the past and the rivet that holds the foot is loose and the pawl arm looks like someone tried to bend it and prob broke it.

This will get you close on compression if you know your cylinder heads. 62-65 is the range for 273 heads.

Wanted Advice On 383 Big Block

I wouldn't worry too much if it's running good now. That "backfire" was probably just excess gas in the intake manifold from crank/no-start before. When you say intake gasket, do you mean the valley pan or the (sometime) gasket between the head and the intake?

    What is your dream car?

As far back as I can remember, I wanted a Daytona. They were always just out of reach, price wise. But now the prices are in the stratosphere. This unrestored Hemi Daytona 4-speed checks all the boxes... Another one that would be on the list would be the Stutz Blackhawk Elvis owned. He was the...
