Just bought a 78 New Yorker

Had her out driving this weekend. Put about 100 miles on her, using up the old gas and getting everything repeated. She starting to run pretty good. Windows and wipers are working again. Had the 69 out getting her ready for a road trip next month.

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

Well, Buttercup’s engine — as you drove her Friday evening — was recently rebuilt, with pistons bored .30 over and a Waldron dual exhaust installed. So she is a rather good 440. Regardless, I am pretty sure that David’s Hurst would leave most everyone in the dust, if he so chose :)

'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

Thanks for confirming that. As I was re-reading that old post I had made, looking at it with fresh eyes, I realized I was not 100% sure I had a 383 rod in there in the first place. Which would've made my conclusion invalid.

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

Yeah, based on what I requested and the response that was provided, I can only conclude that a Hurst has equivalent acceleration to a 72 New Yorker.

Thank you for the posts. It would be great to see the build sheet. After you take photos, you may want to preserve it in a plastic sheet.
