    Woodward Cruise - Aug 17 2024

Been here since about 9:30 am. Weather has been fine except for a pretty good shower about 3:00, but it seems to be done. Quite a few big Mopars this year.

They work. They don't park properly, but they do work

I'm hoping to make it over, but the weather is looking a little sketchy all weekend.

    1965 Engine Mounts

Drilling that bracket looks like it would work, and was my plan B, but I was able to get a good used one, so didn't have to try.

    1965 727 park cable adjustment?

On my '65 when I put the car in park, the column shift lever has to be pushed firmly to the left or the park pawl doesn't engage. I know that the cable can be adjusted slightly in or out where it goes into the housing on the transmission, but am not sure which way will cause the pawl to engage...

    Uphill climb to the bottom

Congrats on the little assistant. :) As far as the engine sitting, I get your concern, but these things are pretty tough. My '65 sat for all of 2015-16. I think I ran it out of gas, and definitely disconnected the battery. No problem getting it going in the spring of 2017.

    Steering Box/Coupler alignment questions

I appreciate the offer. I'm going to check with a shop here in town on Monday, but if that doesn't work out, will get back with you.

    Steering Box/Coupler alignment questions

No, I've got the correct coupler, I just put the bolts in like that to show the angle between the two shafts...

    Steering Box/Coupler alignment questions

Checking off some small projects this week on my '65 Chrysler and thought I would replace the rubber coupling in the steering shaft. Should be simple, right? Instead, I've noticed two things which may or may not be problems, and may be related? First, the steering box & its shaft...

    The Hurst Registry

Not volunteering either ;) but here are a couple of pages with information about the '69 Hurst Olds production. I'm assuming the Chryslers were modified somewhere in the Detroit area and not at Demmer in Lansing, so the process may or may not have been similar? 69 Hurst/Olds VIN Info...

69 Polara Dome and ignition light

I'm not sure about the '69, but everything I've worked on, the pink wire is 12+ and the yellow is connected to ground. Unlike most of the car wiring, the yellow ground connection is the one that the door switches and the headlight switch interrupt to turn the light off.

    WANTED '65-'68 Spring Shackles

Thanks to all. I currently have the universal sort on the car, and it seems like there is more side to side play than I like. They may just need new bushings, but it seems that the factory design where the bolts are pressed into one side plate should be stiffer? Sounds like Rainy Day has...

    WANTED '65-'68 Spring Shackles

I'm looking for 1 or 2 of the leaf spring shackles used on the Slabside C bodies. These are the straight ones, not the offset type used on station wagons & the later cars. Part number is 2585 262 They are about 4" between the bolt centers & about 3" wide. I'm interested in either good used...

    Won't Stop Cranking

I'm assuming that a '63 is set up similar to a '65. Should be 2 studs on the starter with wires connected. The big wire comes straight from the battery to the big stud and then goes off to the starter relay and then on into the car to power everything. That provides the power to spin the...
