    I too added a drain plug in my trans oil pan. Before I installed the pan, I smeared some black Hi temp gasket sealer on the threads so they won't let the oil seep past the threads. The next time I gotta drain the pan for what ever reason, I will have to seal the threads again before I install...

    The issues with going into "R" from "P" in the morning, first start, are NORMAL for any of those TFs back then. Start them in "N" and there are no problems. Reason is that in "P", there is only lube pressure in the lines, so slower fill of the torque converter after it's drained-back from...

    Checked all the bolt holes using a long screw driver. All of them bottomed out with the same length...so looks like no sealant needed. Now time to get busy and get this engine built.

    well, the car arrived 11:00 pm, driver couldn't get it to start so I had to help him push it out, once out in the open, I primed the carb and she started, got it my garage, Drop the gas tank today and surprised it ran, had 8-10 gal of nasty 20 year old gas/rust.
