How to adjust full throttle up shift on 727?

It’s adjusted according to the factory service manual. I’ve also checked the throttle valve to make sure it’s reaching it’s full travel at wide open throttle so I don’t have any reason to think it’s an external issue. Either something inside of the transmission is not allowing the throttle valve...

How to adjust full throttle up shift on 727?

An issue that I have on my 62 300 Sport w/ 727: Full throttle up shifts are way too early. I don’t have a tachometer on the car, but I’m guessing the upshift RPM is under 4000 RPM. Have checked every portion of the linkage for proper operation and adjustment, it’s working as it should. It will...

    440 Piston Recommendations

Nicks Garage test of the 300J cross ram 413 is the best I have ever seen with that induction set up. Yes, MONSTER mid range torque from that 413. EXACTLY what it was engineered to accomplish! Horsepower fell off dramatically @ high RPM (4500rpm+ if I remember correctly) , But that would not have...

    440 Piston Recommendations

I have never driven or worked on a 300H so its performance is a bit of a guess on my part. Using a bar for something I do have experience with: Overall performance similar to a stock well tuned 383 automatic 68-70 Road Runner would suit me fine. That’s actually a pretty high bar for that 440 in...

    440 Piston Recommendations

Digging a little deeper, I found an Icon flat top w/ highest CH so far @ 2.067, Part# IC968. 9.9CR w/ .017 gaskets and 90cc head chamber. This weekend I will measure head chamber volume and the compression height of the current pistons. Hoping I will get lucky and the chamber volume will be...

    440 Piston Recommendations

The specs in KB catalog show the compression height at 2.057, should work out to about .024 in the hole. With a 440 source stainless steel shim gasket @ .017 That calculates to 10.0 CR. Not quite the goal, but I would call that good enough. I would much prefer the thinner rings but for the car...

    440 Piston Recommendations

I agree with your thinking: try to stay with the efficiency of a flat top piston by cutting the deck and heads To arrive at the optimal 10.5 I’m looking for. If this 440 was what I would call a ‘serious’ build I would flip the money $$ and take it to that level and more. The price for the...

KB 184 is the closest that I have found to meet my needs as well. Always good to have a second opinion, thanks for posting. Steve weim55 Colorado

    440 Piston Recommendations

The engine is completely disassembled. I’ve tossed around cutting the decks, cutting the heads, thin head gaskets…… Quick, easy and cheap: .017 steel shim head gaskets, .020 cut off the heads will only get me to 9.1 CR I’m trying to avoid mission creep and do this on the cheap. Yes, the open...

    440 Piston Recommendations

Recently picked up a 1971 440 with 346 heads. .040 rebuild with very few miles that after teardown looks absolutely beautiful to bottom. Engine has only one issue I can’t deal with: Low mechanical compression. I have not cc’d the heads yet but the variety of sources that I have found show it...

    NOT MINE '70 300 Convertible - 18,000 Miles.

WOW…. AND someone chose the right option boxes and good colors! When you look at the type of Mopar muscle from the same era you can purchase in today’s money, I would take this car all day long! Stunning example :) Steve weim55 Colorado

    Wide angle passenger side mirror

Dan, i’ve been thinking the same thing for sometime. I LOVE the wide angle right mirror on my VW. I want to look into obtaining a replacement glass that I can cut into the round shape of the right mirror on my 62 300. Then simply use two sided. emblem tape to attach it to the existing mirror. I...

Need info: Big block oil pan 58 thru 64

Are big block oil pans the same/interchange for all 58 thru 64 full size cars? Concerned there could be a difference between short/long wheelbase models(?) I posted this over at the engine section as well, sorry for the redundancy trying to cover my bases…….. Steve weim55 Colorado

    Got an unbelievable message today.

Add a Homer Simpson cutout to the drivers window + windshield and car is perfect in its current form :) BUT the car was actually perfect as it was in the first picture -2006…… Tomato- Toemato, to each his own….. Steve weim55 Colorado

Original Owner Documented Survivor 1966 Fury III 383 Commando V8

Thank you for taking the time and energy to share, nice way to start my Sunday morning! And kudos for doing some heavy lifting to bring this car back. Perfect example of the enormous amount of $$ and work even the best cared for original can take to bring back.. Certainly a worthy example! Enjoy...

Another one followed me home! 1966 300.

Wow, that would be my top pick for colors on a ‘66 and the car looks mint to boot! I’m really jealous that I missed that one if it came out of Colorado(!) If you decide that car is not for you, I would be happy to bring it back to the state :) Steve weim55 Colorado

1960 Cast iron trans swap to aluminum 727 with park

This was decades ago, but I can remember these details: Friend with a ‘62 chrysler and 727 died, another friend of ours worked in a transmission shop and set him up with a replacement and installed it. Replacement transmission was from a ‘63 and had the park provision. Picked up a park lever...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

OK, lots of good information here. My main takeaway and question that I was most curious to answer: Camshaft. Would make perfect sense Road Runner cam would only be used in factory applications with no AC And the lighter A/B bodies.
