    68 New Yorker Daily Driver

That's a sweet ride. I've just started to daily my 69 300 and I'm loving the feel of it. Enjoy!

    4166 replacement options

So I ended up rebuilding the carb myself and it worked out great. After a few small adjustments the car starts up easy, idles great and accelerates without hesitation. I'm pleasantly surprised and yes, it was plain to see that at least one person had been in that carb in the past (screws had...

    69 300 trunk seal?

Hi, I'm looking for the correct trunk seal for my 69 300. I don't know whether the wrong one was previously installed, installed incorrectly or if this one is just beyond worn out but my trunk is full of water. It might be window seals or something else but I'm going to start with the trunk...

I'm going to commit the faux pas of necro posting if only to say, "thanks", this solved my problem 5 years later lol

    WANTED 4160 carb washer

Found what I needed. It turns out there was another 4160 in the box of parts that I got with this car. I didn't recall seeing a Holley before, but double checking paid off.

It may come to that. We'll see, thx

    WANTED 4160 carb washer

Thanks! This is the internal balance tube, not the aluminum external transfer tube which you correctly described. I only know because I just pulled it apart, clumsily lost track of a washer and have been reading about how I'll probably only find one in a used/junk carb. My first rebuild is...

    WANTED 4160 carb washer

I need to take a moment to be OCD. On the Holley 4160 (came stock on my 69 300) there's a brass balance tube with an o-ring and washer on either end. I've come up short one washer when re-assembling and the kits don't come with them anymore. Does anyone have a junk 4160/600cfm carb to pull a...

Is anyone else depressed looking at new vehicles?

Did it have the shifter knob on the dash? I was horrified when I first encountered that. Who tf ever thought that was a good idea?

69 300, hard brakes; booster and valve question

I'm gently reviving a 69 300 and it's responding well. That said, the brakes are hard to press when moving the car around the driveway and in and out of the garage (no dragging, grinding or other weirdness, just needs a real hard press) and I need to get this sorted before I do anything more...

    4166 replacement options

Untouched since 1993 in the back of a garage FWIW. Can't speak to the carb's virginity though lol so you may be right

    4166 replacement options

Thanks, this is a great overview of options; pros and cons. I'll give it some thought then see what makes the best sense for my situation.

    4166 replacement options

I've read a bunch of threads, I'm looking for specific guidance. Thanks! My stock Holley 4166 on my 69 300 (440, not TNT) survivor is leaking like crazy. So far I'm reading that that's to be expected and not to bother rebuilding. Is there a carb that will drop in and still use all of the...

    69 300 with flaking

So about that 300 I just picked up... What's up with this flaking? Hopefully just some kind of old coating that's separating out? Everything seems solid enough underneath, so maybe just wire it off and maybe POR?

    Carb linkage

True value had the actual clip for .65 (they had both styles too), and I found fine washer. O'Reilly had a good selection of springs so I have no excuses today.
