Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

Thaks for all good information. I'm hoping to get dual exhaust in the future.

I have a tube of E6000. I didn't think of it. Probably easier and safer than using an xacto knife and the 3M tape.

After taking the original nuts off the studs are chewed up pretty good. I took a small file and smoothed out the rough edges. Bought 1/8" push on nuts.

The biggest pain with the tape is cutting the tape around the letters with an xacto knife without slicing my fingers. That's why I only have 5 done.

I took your advice and went to NAPA today and bought the push on emblem nuts like MoparMike has pictured and 3M trim tape. I did the first 5 letters on the front hood. I did start with just the loose ones but the tape does make the letters stand a bit more. So I'm doing them all. No more worry...

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go pick up some different nuts and use the 3M tape also.

Hello everybody! I have loose letters on the hood and trunk of my '66 Newport. Each letter has a pin and a post. The post has small thread cutting nuts which are stripped. I bought new thread cutting nuts but the post are a mess and the new ones don't hold the letters tightly to the car. Will 2...

    Inaccurate speedometer

Thank you again, for all the great information! I guess, for now I will use the speedometer app on fast roads and figure out where 30 mph is on my speedometer, like Big John suggested, for around the village.

    Inaccurate speedometer

Any one have experience in their speedometer being inaccurate? I have a '66 Newport with original engine and transmission. I downloaded a speedometer app and if my speedometer reads 30 mph the app shows I'm going a few miles an hour slower. The faster I go the larger the gap. If the app says...

No dash lights on 68 Newport

I had the same issue with my '66 Newport, I'm not sure if your '68 is wired the same. I thought I was going to have to take out the steering coumn and dismantle the dash ( because it has air conditioning). My map light and dome light both worked. I changed the headlight switch and Ihave dashlights!

    Rust encapsulators

Do you have any pics of what it looks like? Specifically around the bottom of your rear window. I have rust in the same spot. I'm curious to see how it would look with the light patina I have on my car. (I have mostly paint still) I'm thinking of the POR 15 or the Eastman for the insides of my...
