How do I remove water pump housing?

You didn't by chance forget the bolt behind the heater hose nipple, you have to take it out with an open end wrench as the pump housing comes off. then the bolt stays in the housing. Because that nipple ain't comin out after being in there for 50 years

Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

I have a 65 and a 66 300, both had that dam drone, both have TTI exhaust. I put Vibrant brand short bottle style resonators on both. The drone is cut by 70% and still has a nice sound. On the 66 they are on the tail pipe and on the 65 they are under the front seats, I think the ones under the...

Can someone ID this front sub-frame?

I have a 65 chrysler and a 66. My 66 is away, I'll look on the weekend. I think the left engine mount is farther ahead on a 65 K frame. That looks a lot like my 65. I could be wrong but I'll check.

    VACUUM SWITCH QUESTION

You could try spraying a lubricant down beside the push buttons, not in the vacuum ports, it may work. Premiumdashdecals.com in Kingston Ont. does a nice job rebuilding those switches. They can 3D print all those little plastic parts and make them work like new. They did a nice job on my 65 and...

    Picking a new torque converter

In 1972 and maybe even later Chrysler was using 6 pack rods on forged cranks in 440s and they definitely needed external balancing. If the motor has the original front damper it will have a offset weight cast in to it and the torque converter should have 2 small weights totaling 6.5 oz. I think...

    Better late than never

That's been one of my favorite music videos for 32 years. I wonder where that car is now? Anybody Know? It must have survived, it looked pretty good in 1990.

Does cable shift slip yoke 727 torqueflight exist?

I've tried that swap on a 61 and the problem is the ratio on the E brake pedal for a drum brake on a trans is different from the ratio on a E brake diff. That makes it difficult to push the pedal hard enough to hold the car. It will not hold the car on an incline. You would need to mount a lever...

    Better late than never

Ya, I noticed this morning that I posted it in the wrong forum. I don't know how to move it, I'll get better at this.

    Better late than never

I'm Proud to announce that I'm the new caretaker of Peter(300Rag)'s 1965 Chrysler 300 4 speed conv. We made the deal last November and I drove through Northern Ont. in December to get it. I had been drooling over the pics in his garage for 4 or 5 years, finally decided I'm not gettin any...

No hard acceleration - please advise

Could be your fuel pump pushrod wearing out. Not an uncommon thing to happen to these old big blocks. I've had to replace lots of them. When that wears out the car will start fine and drive around town all day, but will not accelerate or drive fast

Spring fell out when pulled tranny filter.

That will work only if you have a 78 and up Lock up trans. Swapping years of valve bodies can get you in trouble sometimes. That valve body will work fine if you can rig up something to hold the spring and plug in place

Spring fell out when pulled tranny filter.

I've been rebuilding TF transmissions for 50 years. That is a 78 or 79 valve body. That is a torque converter pressure relief valve. The cup plug goes in first then the spring, but there should be a retainer staked in the hole to hold the spring in. With this out of there your car will probably...
