    Filler neck grommet install.

I just rub some olive oil on it, and slide it in. No comments from the peanut gallery please.

Need schooling on how to find parts numbers in parts manual.

That little bugger is a beast to find. I was missing one, could not find it anywhere, and ended up making one. A couple of years later I found a NOS one from someone here on FCBO. They are plastic, and get very brittle. CamShaft

Window regulator motor doesn´t function anymore..

Yep, looks like someone was in there before you, and swapped that motor out, as in 1967, if memory serves correct, does not have that kind of connection to the motor, nor does it have the pucks. Don't know what happened to those pucks that you have, or what someone made them from. Or perhaps...

Window regulator motor doesn´t function anymore..

Follow Johns tutorial on this. If you go into the search button in the top right corner and type in "Power window motor repair" you will see that others have provided a diagram on how to drill the doors for the bolt access so you don't have to jerk around with the regulator, way easier. How to get small items rechromed?

Thanks for that information, has any one had any experience with Cosmichrome? Watched some videos on it, looks like pretty good for chrome stuff inside the car. I think they have an outlet here in British Columbia. CamShaft

How to get small items rechromed?

Thanks for your replies, not trying to make money here, I just know from experience how hard it is becoming to find these switches in nice condition. The originals were ok in my 300 but when ever I found one that was better for a reasonable price, I replaced my worst one with that one. Pretty...

How to get small items rechromed?

Thanks Gentlemen: I have had Devin rebuild the ones that are in my car right now, (67 300 drop top) and he does outstanding work. I have quite a few more switches that I have acquired over the years, and I am wondering if it worthwhile to get them re chromed, sent out to Devin to rebuild and...

How to get small items rechromed?

So I am interested in how hard, or expensive it is to get small items re chromed, and what the process is like? As an example, I have a number of power window switches that are pretty crusty, but they work really well. What kind of metal is underneath these guys? and what kind of preparation is...

What's the funniest mod you've seen in a while???

Well said, although there is something about this one that kinda catches my eye. Almost a vintage Power Wagon look, of which I am a fan. CamShaft

    Nexen N'Priz vs Hankook H735 Kinergy 235-75-15

I did the same and bought the Nexen Priz with the narrow whitewall for my 300. I liked the thin whitewall and the load rating at 109 cause the car is HEAVY. Not terribly concerned about treadwear rating, as I only drive the car a couple of thousand K's a year.

    Power Window Motor Repair

This is a long thread but with a great amount of information. I have been screwing around with PW window motors for a while, deeply indebted to Big John for his tutorials as usual, but I find it unusual that the earlier windows had the springs in the gear drive, and then were switched to the 3...

    Power seat motors and solenoids

Chipper I have the factory service manual, and I can see how the whole thing works, but what is it inside the solenoid that causes it to go bad? Do the windings get burnt when the switch is held down too long trying to move the seat when it is held back by something? They are a sealed unit, so...

Convertible tops , Boots and well liners

Damn it, wish I hadn't seen this thread, been working on this car for 25 years and now I have to start again! Just kidding, my 67 300 has had the top replaced once about 30 years ago, and looks about 3 inches short on that last bow. My issue is that the top material has come un stitched or...

    Tail gate regulator lift motor

What Big John said! I have never spent any time on a tailgate window, as I don't have a wagon, but looking at other posts here, the pw motor looks to be somewhat more robust than the regular window motors, due to the size and weight of the window. I don't know what the regulator looks like, or...
