    Now THAT'S some corrosion.

Thanks! I'll buy some from the local Benz dealership. Yes you're right Volvo 960s have those horrid "white block" inline 6 engines. I'd never buy a 960. My 850 Turbo has the reliable 2.3 Turbo inline 5. I give it love LOL, premium fuel only, best synthetic oil, etc. At almost 20 years old and...

    Now THAT'S some corrosion.

What brand do you recommend? I'd like to drain and flush the radiators soon. 1972 Lincoln Continental and 1997 Volvo 850 Turbo sedan.

    My Home Town....

In my central NJ township we have a police staff of 102, 20 black n white Ford and Chevy patrol cars, 3 police emergency large truck vehicles. The patrolmen wear the Adam 12 type of dark blue uniform but I don't see them wearing caps anymore. I've never seen them wearing SWAT uniforms or...

If you could have a home anywhere in the world...

The hope of buying back my childhood home that my parents built in 1963 is hopeless. The new owner since 1987 will not sell. Wife and I bought a house near my childhood home and we are doing some restoration but the property taxes (Central NJ) are getting out of hand. We take pride in our...

    My Home Town....

Well, in the movie The New Centurions, a veteran police officer told a rookie "don't think this badge is going to earn you respect around here (they were patrolling a crime ridden area of Los Angeles). Most of them would like to shove that badge up your a** and then brag that they did it". So I...

    My Home Town....

They obviously don't want to put in an intelligent, logical, legal effort that is required to influence changes to laws or practices that they feel are unfair. So instead they burn cities and go on shooting sprees and ***** and moan that society dealt them a bad hand. Pffffft! They must be...

    My Home Town....

Call me old fashioned but this country has changed A LOT since my childhood years in the early 1970s and much of the changes are NOT for the better. A lot of blatant disrespect exists these days and what's really alarming is that much of it is accepted as being ok! Where did it stem from? I...

Found these at a local car show!

I've always liked model car kits. Bought quite a few of them over the decades. I don't build them anymore yet I can't resist buying a vintage unopened kit every now and then. The wife shakes her head and rolls her eyes when she walks through our den and looks at boxes and boxes of unopened model...

    A question of ettiquette?

I kind of agree with "cherish the memory but move on". I say this because I wanted to buy back my childhood house. My parents built it in 1963, then they sold it in 1987, I went back to see it in 1994. The new owner had removed all the front yard trees. I was pretty upset about that. The rest of...

    A question of ettiquette?

After you sell any item to someone it becomes exclusively theirs. Wondering what condition the item is in years later or what they are doing with it is, well, only their business. Letting go can be hard but actually you let go the day you sold it. Don't look back, there's nothing to gain.
