Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

@NitrousTuner1 any chance you can share a link to the shocks you’re referring to?

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

I appreciate all the feed back on this thread. It is definitely hyping my confidence to do this myself. I will likely go with new parts (I know, not needed for everything, but worth it for Me). I have a friend of a friend that has a sizeable shop and he might let me use it for the weekend. I...

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

Thanks for all the intel on this. Definitely boosting my confidence on this being a DIY. When ordering springs, is there standard part numbers, or are these things basically custom ordered by call ESPO?

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

Well I am certainly glad I brought this to the attention of the forum. ….. so the next question is how do I lower the front end. I will also check the FSM, but admittedly sometimes I just dont get what it is trying to tell me. I will also hunt down some videos.

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

I consider myself a pretty decent “maintenance mechanic” and recently boosted my confidence with some radiator and alternator replacements (thanks to you great folks here). I have always had an internal issue with the ride height of my 300. I am beginning to think the issue is some tired leaf...

    Wheel inspiration

This pic from the brochure that was posted was the clincher for me: I have a convertible, but I think it will give it the slightly sportier look I am aiming for. If I had drum brakes with the 14” wheels, I would be all over the 300 specific wheel covers, but I have 15”s because of the discs so...

    Wheel inspiration

I asked a similar question about my 68 300 just the other day on the Slab Side Pictures thread. There are some great pics on the last couple of pages. But what was most beneficial for this specific topic (looking at pictures of wheels) was being redirected to this thread: C-Body Wheel and Tire...

    Lug nuts frozen - HELP!

I am reading this thread thinking to myself “ @MetalManiacAZ must be experiencing some type of dementia, he must know these are reverse threaded…”. This was a good one!

    Suggestions

I had to get some work done on my brakes a while back. Some things I will do myself, but I never got the hang (or confidence) with the brakes. Took it to my local repair shop that gets a lot of my business. It’s a national chain, but the crew is good and have all been there a long time so it has...

    69 Chrysler 300 wheel update

I have a ‘68 300 and always like that Chrysler made 300 specific wheel covers. I also have disk brakes which gives me 15” wheels which meant the 14” ‘68 300 wheel covers would not fit my car. But in ‘69 and ‘70, the 300 wheel covers were 15”. I ended up getting a set of 1970 300 specific wheel...

    67 - 68 Slab Side Disc Brakes

Can someone drop a link in here for the rotors. I have a ‘68 300 with the budd disc brakes. Brakes work great, but would love the have a set of rotors sitting on the shelf. Thanks!

    Removing tires

The few times I have taken my ‘68 to the shop for any work on, or behind, the wheels I put post it notes on the driver side hubcaps that say “Left handed lug nuts”. The last time I did it the shop manager thanked me because his crew is relatively young so it gave them a good coaching moment.

    68 300 power brakes

Get the discs on sooner than later. You gotta be able to stop these cars. If you don’t have confidence I the braking power, it’s hard to fully enjoy driving them. And I second the notion for pics. Welcome to the ‘68 300 family!

    A Deal on Wheels I couldn't refuse (Mag 500s)

As the old adage goes “... if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.” Turns out those great looking Mags wouldn’t clear the front disc calipers. But there is a silver lining... I was able to sell them quickly to a mustang owner. Back to the drawing board I guess.

    Chrysler 300 Leaf Springs

I am gonna follow this thread as I think I might be in the same boat with my ‘68 300. Where would I find the factory ride height for the car?

    A Deal on Wheels I couldn't refuse (Mag 500s)

So the local parts store didn't have the spacers. Hopped on to Amazon, and to my surprise....Same Day Delivery! On my doorstep by 5PM, on a Sunday!!! Jacked up the car and gave the rims a test fit... I got me some winners here. These will be headed to the wheel straightener this week...
