FOR SALE VALVE COVERS OFF OF A 400 CI NEWPORT MINT

Well, that sucks! I liked that car. I'm glad to hear you are okay. I had a young woman in a minivan drive right through a stop sign in front of me last summer. Her nose was in her damn phone. I realized she wasn't going to stop so, I slowed down. She didn't notice me until she was already half...

    1974 RH "remote" outside mirror

I haven't actually measured anything, but just by looking at it, the mirror head and the glass appear to be the same, a match for the driver's one on my '71. From what I can tell, just the base, where it attaches to the door, is longer.

    1974 RH "remote" outside mirror

Did the RH driver's mirrors have the warning about objects being closer?

    1974 RH "remote" outside mirror

I grabbed a mirror of a mid 80s M-body at the boneyard last summer. I got it because I thought it might fit my Newport. It has the remote cable/joystick, but the cable is much longer than yours appears and would need to be mounted in the dash. That's where I would've wanted it anyway. The fly in...

    Gas mileage on a 1977 Newport with a 400

Not a Formal, but the best mileage I've been able to get was over 20 MPG (Cdn gallons) with my '71 383-2V at a sustained speed of 60 mph. I had L-78-15s on the back at the time so, my 2.76 was probably effectively more like a 2.53 or something, instant OD, LOL. Now I have 225/70-15s all...

    A '76 2-door NY with a 4-speed.

It's a beautiful car and I hope it doesn't become a powertrain donor for a Duster. I actually could get used to the white scoops, although I would never have put scoops on a Formal myself. I wouldn't have put all of those little emblems on it either, but to each their own. I saw a Fusie...

    Vinyl roof idea.

Some of my vinyl top was peeling around the rear window area. The paint does extend under it, as far as I can see under it, anyway. I haven't peeled the whole top off yet, but there are only a couple of small areas where I could feel any blistering. The rest feels smooth and solid. I won't...

    1975 Looooooooongroof

It's kinda cool, but I probably wouldn't have put the van windows in. But yeah, it's a Shaggin' Wagon not a Limo. :) A Shaggin' Wagon that just happens to be a real wagon.:laughing4:

Very interesting pic from factory lit.

Just so long as we don't lose any. I like the fact that there's lots of them to choose from. Some other sites don't have enough. :)

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

"Big old Dodge" I can't even count the number of times that I've heard people use that term when referring to any and all C-bodies. :)

I know you hate us derby guys, but....

Thank you for being one of the good guys and not just indiscriminately derbying every full- size car that you get your hands on. I will likely have to try contacting some derby guys to see if I can buy parts from them.

I know you hate us derby guys, but....

That, to me, is the whole problem. It seems that it's not the cars in that condition that get derbied, but rather the nice "survivors" and "drivers" that end up in the derby. I won't go to derbies. I hate them. It started when I was a kid. A friend's uncle bought a '59 Chevy sedan...

    The 4 speed - She's finished.

Agreed. I've often kicked around the idea of copying that style, but using it for cowl induction. :)

    brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It went down to -32F last night and it's a balmy -26F right now.

    brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It's clear, calm and -9 degrees F right now. Supposed to go down to -20 F overnight.

Anyone seen a bug guard like this on a formal NY'er?

It looks okay. I haven't ever seen one on a C-body before, but I have seen aluminum, truck & van style running boards on an M-body! At first glance I thought they were side pipes :laughing9: until I got closer and got a better look.

What's your opinion about keeping your c-body 100 percent original?

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think that a Slab or a Fusie, especially a 2-door, can still look really good with "modifications" while Formals probably look best if done closer to "all original". As for wheels and tires, going from 14" to 15" is probably a nessecary upgrade these...

What's your opinion about keeping your c-body 100 percent original?

For me, the main thing is to see these cars kept out of the derbys and out of the crushers. I want to see them where they belong, being enjoyed on the road in nice weather, at the cruise nights and at the shows. I want to see them fixed up, whether that be restored, restomoded, hot rodded or...

    Saved a 1975 New Yorker

Someone Who Can Appreciate Quality... Thank you for saving a C-body. Some of the auto wreckers won't even put them in their yards for people to pick parts. They just send them straight to the crusher or keep them for the derby guys. It's good to know there are some, like you, who care that...
