1967 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible 440 4-speed

This is very rare C-body with factory maximum performance options.

General Information

This car was bought from the original 90+ year old owner in 1994 and shipped to PA via SoCal. It was his pride and joy, he ordered it and personally walked it down the assembly line. Restoration was completed around 2000.

I am still in awe over this Sport Fury, I love it that much :eek:. BUT I honestly think a white interior would go great with it, regardless though it truly is a beautiful Fury. Question, this car for some reason looks familiar, was this car in one of the Mopar magazines?

Thanks much! If I had my dithers it would be red with red interior or triple black. Neither love or hate the white but left it original colors except for top which was originally black. White interior would be nice but the original vinyl was so pristine I wouldn't even think of changing that. You have a good memory, it was in 10-2003 Mopar Muscle.

White with a white interior would look great, but white with red interior would look even better in my opinion. My stepfather's convertible was originally a yellow exterior with black interior and black top. It is an original 383 HI-PO car with air, pw, and used to have tilt-a-scope steering. Now has blue interior. I knew and figured your car looked familiar and was in a magazine, I even have that article too

I do believe seeing a barn-find '67 triple black 4 speed convertible in Mopar Collector Guide Magazine once. I got so many magazines that I got from a member and a friend here that moved, I got the magazine with that car somewhere.
 
That is a beautiful car. I hope to get mine back to that level some day, unfortunately mine wasn't cared for the way this was. Apparently this was the original owners Retirement present to himself. There are so many nice parks around but several of these look quite a bit like Brush Creek or possibly Hartwood Acres,

Thanks. Actually the car was far from perfect. The old guy drove like Mr Magoo & every panel had a dent that was filled with bondo. He had it painted & it looked like a 10 year old's first attempt with spray cans. At least it had solid bones, it was never wrecked & virtually rust free. Those are some great parks but pics were taken in N Park, very close to me. I was using the car as a daily driver on some nice days last year.

Thanks! Forgot to put that in, the old Dana 53. They put them in some early '67 B bodies too & were more commonly used in '60's Lincolns & bigger Jeeps.
 
I have a 67 Sport Fury 440 with a 4-speed Fast Top. This is the only other 67 440 4-speed I have ever seen. I notice that some of the photos show a Hurst shifter (which was not stock in 67) and others show the stock inland shifter. Mine was replaced with a Hurst as well. Love this car.

Put the Hurst in for driving, it has a better feel, the Inland is a bit vague. Know of another '67 SF 440 4-speed, it was a standard hardtop but very low option, had manual steering & manual drum brakes, same colors as mine. I love rare performance cars, a 300G with the French 4-speed comes to mind. Maybe you could open a photo garage, pics would be great.
