Before you try to remove the pistons etc., be sure to soak the whole engine in Rust Ripper or a similar product to remove as much rust as possible. This will greatly aid in getting things apart. Once the rust is gone, the engine can be treated with Break Free or a similar good penetrating oil, or soaked in a bath of diesel oil. Doing the above will help prevent micro fractures in the cylinder walls from seized pistons and rings. Lifters are also likely to be seized in their bores, so take care in removing them as well.

I've been using Marvel's and Kerosene, but it just doesn't seem to work all that well.
Where would I get this rust ripper?

Dropped the fuel tank today after I got home from the hospital. I'm impressed, still has the original exhaust hangers.

View attachment 444872 Well I'm leaving in the morning (Again) so I decided to check out the torque boxes, they all seem to be intact along with all the rear unibody. The subframe in the front seems to be intact, what I thought was rusted out on the driver side turned out to be the floor board folded down and a bunch of mud built up there. Sorry for the bad lighting ONLY had a few minutes. Just trying to keep the updates going with what little time I have View attachment 444854 View attachment 444855 View attachment 444856 View attachment 444857 View attachment 444858 View attachment 444859 View attachment 444860 View attachment 444861 View attachment 444862
Yes! Thank you.

Got any pics of the top side and interior you can share?
I dig those early 80s 5-spoke wheels.
I had the 10-spoke variety on my 68 for a number of years.
