AWD with a Hemi, I like this one a lot.
1950 Studebaker Pickup Truck Hemi AWD

type: pickup

We will start this description by saying- "This ain't our first rodeo".

What we have here, is a FUN, Reliable and FAST pickup truck. It's AWD, HEMI Powered and yes- it's a 1950 Studebaker with a 1950 Clear Ohio Title. It's been built by some creative guys that have done this before. Many times, in fact. This platform is chosen for their builds because it's modern, reliable and parts are readily available. They've done several IH trucks, a 41 Chevy and even a GIANT IH Metro van, just to name a few..

What's under this thing?? GM? Nope. Ford? Nope.

It's a powerful AWD Hemi Durango from the 2004-09 Era. That means, legendary Hemi power and RAM reliability. Worried about parts to keep this 1950 truck on the road?

Don't worry one bit!
You can get them at any Auto parts store in the nation. This is a 2004 Dodge Durango underneath this awesome patina covered rarity.

Just fire this thing up, hit the cruise control and sit back, relax and plug your phone into the charger located in the glove box. 70MPH is no problem with the cruise control hitting it's stride. If you want to go faster, this little monster will do it. I encourage you to obey all traffic laws. This thing will go faster than 70. A lot faster.

The donor vehicle was an SUV and this truck now weighs in a heck of a lot less than a bloated SUV carcass. It's got independent front suspension and a four link rear. Coils in the rear, torsion in the front. Full frame vehicle capable of towing 6K and more.

We've driven this vehicle all over Ohio and so far, so good. It is not one of those overpriced, mint in every corner, big money trucks. This is Fast, Reliable, Safe and easy to work on if you ever felt the need. All the lights work, Cruise control, tilt steering, factory four wheel disc with ABS- All STOCK and functioning great. The factory wiring harness is UNCUT, Unmodified, so this is- for all intents and purposes a 2004-09 Dodge Durango with the OBDII system intact. Good rubber, NO LEAKS- this thing is ready.

The 5.7 Hemi engine and Chassis had done 130K miles before it was pulled, gone through and reconditioned with all new cooling and ignition parts, 100% new engine gaskets from the front main seal to the rear. Oil pan to the throttle body. Plugs, wires, fluids- All new and ready to go.

Want something different, fast and reliable? Want to be the center of the conversation everywhere you drive this thing? Act NOW- It's also for sale on ebay- so don't delay. No reserve and no BS. Feel free to share this with everyone- including Bring A Trailer and Barn Finds. They love this crazy stuff and you will too!

Possible trades accepted- NO GM and NO HARLEY I do not need help selling, do not waste your time. If the ad is UP, I still have it.

I like it. And it doesn't seem to be overly priced. I wonder how hard it would be to loose that Durango steering wheel and dash, and replace them with more period correct looking stuff?

There's a 50 Studie running around the Niagara area just around the corner from me.
They have done a similar resto mod but not sure of the driveline. I've never seen it up close yet.

I've seen a few similar swaps like this and thst is one of the annoying things. Looking inside and seeing late model instruments and a air bagged steering wheel. Really knocks the wind outta the sails.....otherwise I like it, I guess.

I like it and I think the price is right. I've always thought the Studebaker trucks were the best looking of that era.

I'm not crazy about the patina look myself. I think it's because I've owned too many cheap, rusty cars over my lifetime and wanting to not have cars that look like that... But that's personal taste. At least it's not flat black. Don't care for the new dash and steering wheel either.

It's done to retain the factory computers. Otherwise they'd end up with after market everything, driving the price to BJ or gas monkey, et al, pricing.

That isn't a bad price for that at all. I didn't notice the dash till mentioned. What really stuck out to me is that sorry-*** front bumper. I would definitely replace with something more appropriate. I wonder what rear gears in it if it's that fast, as he says?

I like it, and I really like the original blue. I would have do the body and paint it. Not crazy about the steering wheel wonder how difficult it would be switch back.
