‘70 Plymouth Fury III Vert 383

just a six-barrel of N-code 1970 Fury III convertibles you still have to find
You're not referring to the mythical hemi-powered PM27R0D233592 1970 Fury iii 'vert.

Do you have a V-code VIN? AFAIK, a V-code could not be ordered on a Fury iii as per @Fury440's post here (BUT he was given, when he ordered his T-code, the opportunity to order an R-code semi-powered Fury 'vert, which he declined -- see here).

The only 440-6 1970 Fury 'vert of which I know is a tribute car. Here is another thread.

Time to update a VIN and info about two of the 8 known T-code 1970 Fury iii 'verts:

(...) here is some information (see also here):

1. The late Bill M. (@Fury440) compiled a great information set about his own T-code Fury III convertible and its restoration. He posted it on a website that appears to have been taken down: sadly, Bill passed away last year. Fortunately, a lot of the information that he put together has been archived on the Way Back machine here. The information therein is IMHO irreplaceable, so you may want to look at it as you go about your own restorations.

2. Bill was the authority on Fury 'verts in general and T-code Fury 'verts in particular. He owned his car from new, and searched far and wide for information on what he estimated were not many T-code 1970 Fury 'verts produced (out of 1,952 total). As of 2016, he had found 7 original T-code cars -- more photos are here and a table showing how those seven are equipped is here:

PM27T0D1268xx (EB5, order #: 071610 ) -- this car is currently for sale on Coparts.
PM27T0D1304xx (ER6, order #: 112906 ; a 2009 web page set up by owner Andy Poluszny was last updated in 2009, when the car had 200k miles; a video of that car in 2008 is here)

PM27T0D1402xx (originally FK5, order #: 039631 )
PM27T0D140492 (EF8, order #: 114839 -- this car is now owned by @sauterd)

PM27T0D1408xx (originally TX9, order #: 009789 )

PM27T0D1426xx (order #: C14430 -- Bill's own)
PM27T0D153472 (TX9, order #: Q06178 — bought in 2017 by @JustAddWater and discussed here)

3. Since then, 2 more T-codes have popped up on FCBO: PM27T0D148353 and PM27T0D129913

(...) Note that all the know T-code cars' SBDs are from before Nov. 7, 1969.

You lost me again -- unless you are saying that there are 6 N-codes left to find. Do you have production figures? That'd be great.

a six-pack (Plymouth six-barrel) = 6 pieces of something

I just found another N-code 1970 Fury 3 convertible. This 383-4 Plymouth is EB3 "Ice Blue" and advertised for sale currently on Auto Trader (auction to be held on Nov. 19, 2022). According to the listing: "Odometer Reads 104,077. VIN # PM27NOD283401. This car is a One Owner and all Original except repaint about 20 years ago."

Well, it looks like I found another N-code 1970 Fury iii 'vert. PM27N0D188443 was sold by Specialty Sales Classics. Only one photo is left, but luckily the fender tag info and a single photo are still online. I have added that information re: this EB7 blue ragtop to the Last Convertibles directory.

Says 3 x 2 carbs. Have we seen this car before ?
As for the carbs, I can't say if PM27N0D188443 has been modded as there are no photos left of the engine. This said, it looks like this Fury iii sports a Sport Fury grille, has had its V5B moldings removed, and has been lowered -- so perhaps the car's engine bay holds surprises as well.

I have not seen it before, that is why I said "I found" -- it is new to me and (AFAIK) to FCBO. That is the 12th N-code about which I have gathered information; 11 are alive , the 12th is likely to have been parted by now.

PS: There may be a 13th N-code about which you commented -- but that car was missing its engine and transmission back in 2015, so it may not be alive anymore.

--> I was not tracking 1970 'verts at the time, and any info you can post about the 13th car would be good for records.

@Dimitri Romanenko and @Zippy22 -- here is some information since you are interested (see also here):

4. Bill focused on T-code cars, and did not keep track of how many N-code, L-code, or G-code Fury III ragtops were produced in 1970.

(...)

6. Note that all the know T-code cars' SBDs are from before Nov. 7, 1969. (...)

Thanks to @70 Sport Suburban and @SportFury70 we also have PM27T0D140878 -- a tenth TX9 T-code that is currently for sale and whose fender tag is analyzed here. Originally black on charcoal interior, it "had been repainted burgundy with a blue interior" and, prior to its sale as a project, it was "in the process of being restored — it is currently painted in grey primer".

As I had noted in the earlier post quoted above, all nine previously known T-code 1970 Fury iii 'verts have an SBD dated before Nov. 7, 1969. This tenth one fits that pattern, as its SBD was October 20, 1969. @polara71 @69CoronetRT @sauterd

Well, here is another N-code Fury iii 'vert that @SportFury70 found a couple of days ago. PM27N0D137507 is currently for sale in Indianapolis. Perhaps @david hill or @fury fan can stop by the dealer and get a pic of the fender tag (the VIN is posted, but tag is not despite being there and full of codes).

Yes, that one needs a lot of corrections.
But it's perfect for someone that doesn't know these cars.

The doorpanels looked great - until I saw the screws along the bottom edge. The passenger one has a single screw - somebody ruined it over 1 screw!
I could handle the seatcovers - but they did such a poor job on the headrests.
They couldn't get they fender emblems on correctly, I guess.
Disc brakes, and with *terrible* splash shields, but a drumbrake booster.
The oilpan is a generic non-C-body, and appears that idler hits it on full turns. Pitman might also.

I agree w/ @fury fan a generic oil pan has been used Should have been a 187 oil pan as used on all 69-73 C bodies. The knock off center caps are another horrible addition. The suspension bushings are worn out as well. note the orientation of the lower control arms to the sub frame. The electric cooling fan is another hack repair. I believe its located in the west Indy Airport area.
