Yesterday my dad and I went to Kentucky to work out a deal on this ‘70 Fury vert, originally a 383-4bbl. Owner had two build sheets and the sales receipt, turns out it was a dealer demo car (Y13). The 383 is long gone and it has a 400 in it now. We bought the car but still have to get it back to NY.

Congrats on your score!
Nuthin wrong with a 400.
You cam do some modern upgrades on the 400 and still make it look like a 383 when you open the hood.

K3, unusual color, normally K5 was big seller. My question, how do you guys find these cars? very nice

Great score for you. That is a really solid looking drop top in a nice color and big block with A/C under the hood. Don't worry about it being 400 "smog motor" either. You can do as many or as few upgrades to it as you like and it will perform fine and still look like a 383 when you open the hood.

great color combo, i likey
like @cbarge said, nothing wrong with a 400.
looks like it has been repainted K2, you can see overspray under the hood on the wipers and grilles

Nice score Dimitri, it looks nice and solid. Big block and an early build to boot. FK is one of my favorite colors!

Congratulations

Hey wait a minute, I see on the window sticker there are no manufacturer retail prices. I never seen a window sticker with that before. Why is that, is it because the dealer ordered it for display in their showrooms and such?

That’s all I can think of. I was wondering the same thing.

Congrats on another great score! I like the cars you buy, and what you do with them (here is an example of what I mean). The car was originally ordered by Erwin Services in Rockport, IN right across the river from KY :)

PM27N0D105754 was born with an N-code, same as Snow White (my 1970 Dodge Polara convertible). There were only 19 Polara 'verts made with a 383-4, out of a total 1970 production of 842 cars: do you know how many Fury 'verts came with that engine?

The only other N-code Fury iii ragtop of which I am aware is PM27N0D108414 -- which has been for sale in Oregon (sans engine or transmission) for a while, see e.g. this thread by @Welder guy for photos.

Edit: The picture has disappeared from the seller's site, here is an August 2019 screen shot for records:

Edit 2: @70 Sport Suburban just reminded me of PM27N0D233592 — a yellow N-code Fury ‘vert that @Jeff had restored and later sold back in 2018.

Thank you sir. And I have no idea on the production numbers for the Fury. I was hoping someone here would

That’s one sharp car! Pretty sure I seen action shots of it on the gram.

All you need to do now is find a nice low mile 1970 383 Roadrunner or `cuda to donate its motor to the cause.

Turnabout is fair play you know...

Some small chamber heads would raise the compression too. The only real difference in how the 400s ran vs the 383s, I believe.

Great score! Congrats!

I agree I haven't seen many K3 cars out there. I have a '70 Fury III convertible with K5 color. I can imagine why K5 was a big seller. Are there any sources that ID by color, the number '70 Plymouth Fury III convertibles sold/made?

We have that information for 1970 Polara convertibles, thanks to @polara71, @Bill Watson, @kmccabe56, @Fratzog and several others from the old Yahoo Board, but I have not seen it for Fury 'verts.

You will find some information in this thread that is a repository of information about the 1970 C-body "Last Convertibles" -- It'd be great if you could contribute info about your car in it!
