BIGBARNEYCARS; Every body our age should have ah little turbo car [/QUOTE said:
Not much on "little" turbos...... This has been a project of a buddy and mine for the past couple years. Twin turbo LQ 402. Now in the "desconstruction" phase for final finishes.

Type of GM LS style engine, out of trucks I think.
And you are correct, sir.

The foundation of any LS build is an engine block, and picking one that will hit a rock-bottom price point while still providing ample cubic-inch capability is a no-brainer. Look no further than GM's 6.0L iron block, as used in the LQ9 (and LQ4) truck engines. Featuring a 4-inch factory bore and strength to support hundreds of horsepower over stock, this Gen III block is a superb choice for not just N/A builds like our own, but power-adder applications as well. If you're lucky, you can find a used LQ9 block for just a few hundred bucks, or just opt for a new one under GM PN 12572808; major retailers like Summit or Scoggin-Dickey sell them for around $725. Sure, there's a bit of a weight penalty that comes along with iron, but we're saving hundreds of dollars versus going for the comparable LS2 aluminum block--and the L92/LS3 blocks, with their slightly larger bore, go for double the price of an LQ9 block or more!

A killer heavy duty block for $725. New, From GM.
Sheesh.....

Here is the car on the way to our turbo guy, Tony.
He custom built the entire turbo system, intercooler and full stainless exhaust, using Borla mufflers.

I'm blown away (sorry had to say it) hope to see more on this ride in the future.

I haven't been to vocal about it here because it is, after all, a "non mopar".
We started the project about 2 1/2 years ago, and it looks like it will be another year to complete yet. Almost everything is hand built and fabricated. Lots of time, patience, thought and design has gone into it. It's not that easy to come up with a "unique" 57 Chevy.

It should be in the trim shop soon. Interior will be "period custom" featuring four 64 Pontiac Grand Prix bucket seats, (custom upholstery), a full length custom built console with a transparent lexon top plate housing the power window switch's and a PCS push button trans shift control. As well as the digital analog Dakota gauges, vintage air, built in sound system etc.etc.

Thankz Will. I can appreciate the skill of whats being done there but I'd have liked it way better if it had been either ah '55 or '56. I pretty much had my fill of the '57z thru' the fall, winter of '56 and the 1st 8 months of '57. Had a good friend that sold 'um for the dealership in Pomona there in SoCal back then. I'd hitchhike up on ah Friday evening on a 72 hour pass from 29 palms and he'd grab a new "0" mile FI '57 off the lot and we'd go thru' a full tank on Friday and another tank on Saturday terrorizing everything and everybody we could up 'n down Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena weekend after weekend after weekend. Had to pay ah few timez for a hook to get 'um back to Pomona 'cuz we broke 'um tho'. I often wondered how he kept his job but they musta liked him, lol. Haven't like the '57 bow tiez ever since, just too much bling on the quarter stainless. Even the finz on the 56 Golden Hawk were way better lookin' finz and a much better looking silhouette then the '57 bow tie and very similar. Came real close to dropping a rocket 88 'tween the fenderz of a golden hawk one time after Uncle Sam and I said our goodbyz in '58 but thatz another story, Jer
