I've the same car !
Bought in 1994 in London in a similar condition: torn and worn upholstery, paint to be redone, original soft top (!), bumpers and window surrounds painted gray, no braking, all zamacks pitted, etc... But it was not disassembled and nothing was missing, except the Highway HiFi Phonograph.
It took me 7 years to restore it, it was a challenge and quite an experience, it cost me as much as if I had bought one in perfect condition. And that allowed me to get to know the Imperial 1957 perfectly, since on mine I completely dismantled everything. Since 2001 I have traveled 25,000 miles, I still enjoy driving it, but when people ask me "what year is the Cadillac" I don't even answer.
