Car is beautiful to look at, lots of stuff wrong under the hood, wonder if the 392 is native to the car. May be listed for a long time at that price.

The Hemi could be original to the car but it would be a 325. 392 was a Chrysler hemi.

Scroll thru the pics on this "correct" restoration. Valve covers on the early hemis all look pretty similar.

The D500-1 would have been the dual quad dodge hemi for '57. Would be a tough ID to use the valve cover. If this was a D500-1, it is a pretty rare car as I think less than 400 were built.

Both cars have what appear to be 325 cid spark plug wire covers, do not know if they would inter change onto one of the other period hemis. Who ever did the engine compartment does not have much of an eye for detail as far as keeping a "correct" appearance.
