1958 Dodge Coronet Super D500

For 100K I want the drip rail mouldings. Can't be that hard to find... :nono:

If the car had them, don't let the piece above the vent window fool you.
A friend of mine has a 61 Dodge and we had this conversation.
I don't recal the particulars but not all cars had the trim, his 61 was a base model only had minimal trim.

A good friend had a 58 Convertible D500, very cool cars. This one is also very cool, but optimistically priced.

In my opinion the range would be from $75K to $80K. A very, very rare and desirable car in the D500 trim.

It's my understanding that the D500 single 4bbl carb used the 350 CID engine, and the D500 2x4bbl carb used the 361 engine. So the 361 is correct, rare and the first year of production for this engine.

I'm a little surprised how high the bidding has gone on this one. The highest value I could find on this car searching all the online value guides was $39K.

It's understandable that you'd be surprised if you aren't in tune with the current market on early Forward look cars. "Value Guides" rarely have a correct assessment of the current market.

F-look cars have gone up exponentially in the last 8 years. F-look cars are hot, and this one is exceedingly rare.

It's close to my projection of $75 to $80, should go for more $$$ and rightly so.

I always wanted one, since I was 15 I'd say. 58 /59/60 Dodge or DeSoto convertible. I guess I never will with the prices where they have gone over the last 20 years.

Same thing happened with the 71 Hemi Cuda convertibles. I swore when I was 15 I would own one....little did I know in 1981 that there was only a dozen plus to choose from.

I'll have to admire the Forward looks in someone else's driveway

A 2 or 4dr. Forward Look sedan model still seems to be affordable. I'd be completely satisfied with that although the Station wagons are the ones I find most appealing.

I would agree with you if it were a Royal Lancer. A base Coronet with the Suoer D500 package shouldn't bring this.

See I would think that a base model with a hp package would be more desirable because its odd, a upscale royal lancer with an extra carburetor seems not so odd for the era.

Agreed, and you are totally spot on.

It's like a 57 Chevy 210 post with Fuel Injection, which they did make a few, and they bring very high dollars.
