1958 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer Super D500 Convertible

Thanks for the comments guys on my Regal Lancer. As for help Scott, I am always glad to have you out at my place anytime you want to come out - just to hang out and/or to help. That would be fun again. I really enjoyed the time with you on the occasions we looked into some issues when you were restoring your convertible.

I bought this car in Colton, California from Ernie Grossich, who is a long time Mopar guy that I have known for decades - he is probably in his 80s now and still gets out to have his small crew work on some of his old cars last I checked in on him. Unfortunately, there is no history on this car that I could find. Ernie just didn't have much on it. But it is pretty much complete and virtually rust free except some of the trunk floor, and I have the original engine/trans but the engine is locked up. It has the color combination I like the best being copper/white. I would like it to be a stunner when done too. I am saving the money for the resto and will get to it soon as I can now that I am retired. Built a new garage, though, and need to pay some of that off yet.

I have to agree Stan ..... Although I can't say the convertible "does nothing for me". Makes me weak in my boots actually......

But as much as I like a convertible there is something really sexy about the sport coupe roofline. And I like the White & copper better.
That Regal Lancer is beautiful and will be a stunner when done.

Concur Will. I love those cars w or w/o a metal roof and those sports coupe cars are very sexy

He's got the nicest setup and collection of anyone I know and I know a lot of car guys in So Cal. He's a great guy to boot; always willing to give a helping hand. If any of you guys are ever in LA, let me know. We can cruise the 300 'vert out to his place where you can stroke out in Mopar nirvana. He may even let you use the head, Stan.

You guys are waaay toooo much!! I guess I take all this stuff in stride as it is not what motivates me - people are first and foremost in my life because of the Lord above. But the cars are a joy to me and a nearly lifelong passion. I have just collected them over the years and like them all. If I had to pick my favorite car of all, it is the tan 1970 Chrysler 300 2 door - it was the first car I ever bought and that was when I was working for Chrysler Engineering in Michigan. I drove it for over 205K miles and then did a partial restoration - I didn't want to make it so nice that I would not drive it much though. It just does everything superbly and looks stunning in my eyes. My dad did give me the black 1962 300 as my actual first car when it was a few years old to drive it to UCLA, UC Berkeley and to Chrysler in Michigan when they hired me in 1969 (he made me work every summer though to earn it). It has always been special to me and I refused to drive it in Michigan weather. It got a full restoration many years ago though. Of course the most special cars I have are the 1960 300F and the 1957 300C, which I like equally. The F means a lot to me because of the original owner who I knew for so many years and was a good friend too. I was the only guy he would let do the maintenance on it when the dealers did not know how to work on it anymore. The white 1962 300H is the first car I ever restored. The Cuda I restored completely with a friend of mine, Mike, who did his Challenger at the same time at my former residence. Here are more photos of some of these cars. Like I said, please plan on a visit if you are out this way - and yes, Stan can definitely use the bathroom (I just thought all the bathrooms I ever see in garages are dingy, dirty places, so why not do something different). To answer your question as to which of these I drive, I actually drove every one of them you see out to the new garage about 6 months ago, and they all made it with no issues. But I would like to drive them all more once I can get some other cars sold to pay off the balance on the new garage. There are just too many cars in the collection, and it is time to make this all much more reasonable. All in good time..................
