I don't have to sell, I have to cherish forever. If I did own it, that much coin would be hard to walk away from

I guess it depends how much you have into it.

Hold on, let me check.

I had to go see what high average currently is.
Probably not. I'm not done with it yet.

There isn't an emotional connection to your car
Interestingly enough not 2 months after I bought the car off of him he told me I should sell. I was shocked and after a thinking about it for a few I think I understood why. I listened to a couple of offers on it the year I drove it to the Nats and they were good offers but that's when I figured out I wasn't ready to sell nor was the car ready. Financially I would be a fool to sell before it was completely restored. When it's all said and done I think there will be a number of reasons that it would take a hell of a lot of money to get me to let go.

At least two of mine have increased in value, so not necessarily true
I don't know if we're talking about the same thing.
Has the value of your two increased above and beyond your investment?
In other words, if you had to sell them, will you have made a profit?

Yes definitely. ...but not the 3rd / newest one. Of course, I've had them quite a while and all three are original cars....paint, tops, interiors. Which is where I come out ahead.

Of course, a C with metal work, paint and interior work you will almost never get back the investment

I'd come out on top if I sold my Imp right now even at low market value. Actually back up a couple of steps because I'm not even sure I know what it's worth. I reviewed my insurance coverage the other day and I'm not sure when it happened but I'm probably underinsured on it by 4 or 5K. I was pleasantly surprised by that.

By the fact the value went up, or that you are under-insured?

Now why would I be pleasantly surprised that I was underinsured???:poke:

Love the 59! but I'd have to sell my house to own it. 150 grand and it didn't hit reserve. Wow!

I'm lucky to have a cheap taste. Convertibles don't tempt me at all. I'd rather have a sedan than a convertible.

The only way I could own a 1959 convertible would be to buy a 4-door, get out my reciprocating saw, and create a Sawsall special.
