1959 Dodge Kingsway In Jalisco Mexico

What lets this car down is the '59 Plymouth rear end which, in my opinion, is not attractive.

Do you think there would be a market in the US for these odd ball cars?

Very nice. Very nice Super Bee or Coronet behind it.

The 1959 Dodge Kingsway was a Plymouth Savoy with a Dodge Coronet front end. Engines were a 230-cid flathead six or a 318 V8. The other series were Kingsway Deluxe (Belvedere), Kingsway Custom (Fury) and Kingsway Lancer (Sport Fury).

That same car was built and sold in Canada as a Dodge Regent. Engines were either a 251 cid flathead six or a 313 V8. Upper series were Mayfair (Belvedere) and Viscount (Fury). The Viscount was V8 only and there was no Sport Fury version.

Another export version was the DeSoto Diplomat. Picture that Kingsway with a Firesweep front clip.

No, all Plymouths, and Plymouth-based Dodges (Canadian, Kingsway and Diplomat) came with the same instrument cluster - Plymouth ship and all. 1958 was the last year Chrysler had instrument clusters for Plymouth, Dodge (CDN and export) and DeSoto (export).

The Canadian 1962 Dodge Dart and Plymouth used Dodge interiors and instrument panels, right down to Dodge's fratzog. I guess Chrysler just couldn't justify tooling a new part for so few cars.
