The link is not working for me.

Bob's on a serious hunt for DeSotos..............

Just looking and educating myself for now....it's going to be a long search and a perfect De Soto for me before I pull the trigger.

Of course I won't be posting that car until I own it. LOL!

And to think I paid $75.00 for mine in 1969! it is long gone, but I still have the title. The Fireflite was the standard, Adventurer a bit more money.

That is a very nice project car. I can't recall seeing a rear bumper with that center section with the canted side pieces. Also neat is that it has the swivel seats option - see lever at front end of lower seat cushion trim piece. I think he will get his price. I would guess it will go to Europe.

Wasn't Adventurer the ONLY model in the 1960 DeSoto lineup?

The first year of the car’s production, 1957, was the best year for Firesweep sales. A decline in DeSoto quality and increasing market pressures led to the end of the Firesweep’s production at the end of the 1959 model year. During 1959 Firesweep cars carried only DeSoto external nameplates.
For 1960, DeSoto automobiles came in two series, Fireflite and the Adventurer.
The final Desoto model, lacking a series name, was offered for the 1961 model year. DeSoto production ended in November 1960.

I'm an old fart....if I had any sense years ago I could of had acres of these cars.

you couldn't give them away until about 1980. I bought a 57' Plymouth coupe for $450.00 in 1983. I was dumb to sell that car.

I remember seeing Forward Look cars in back yards, abandoned on the street everywhere. No one wanted them after the gas shortages in 1970's.

mainly the fins were not cool. But they became cool again, now a nice 57 Plymouth is far more desireable than a 57' chevy. Even chevy guys buy them.

I owned a 60 Fireflite Coupe... paid $250 for it... bought an Adventurer for parts ($100), painted it, and converted it to the Adventurer. Sold it for $1800. This was 1979 money were talking about here. Was a great car, wish I had it back! I posted a pic of it here a while ago. One of those you wish you never got rid of deals.

As far as this one goes...he's nuts... $1000 Tops! These cars need lots of TLC to become worth any kind of money. They have lots of issues! Floors, trunks, brakes, frame rot, etc etc you better get a really good deal on one, or one that has been gone through. I'll share my experiences if anyone gets close to buying one.. always here to help
