Nice driver level car. The good: This H is very straight, has a beautiful black paint job, factory correct leather interior with correct basket weave pattern, chrome is in great condition, engine bay is very close to factory correct, has the correct 1962 S41 HP engine with correct carburetors. Solex factory tinted glass. Also has the Auto Pilot option. Exhaust is in excellent condition. Parking driveshaft brake works great and brake indicator light illuminates as it should. Dash pad is great, no cracks.
Recent work: New gas tank and sending unit; New fuel lines and filters, auxiliary electric pump installed near tank for priming carbs, new mechanical pump for normal running; New transmission Dacron filter and trans oil change; Engine oil change to Driven brand hot rod zinc oil; Valve lash adjusted; Carbs rebuilt; Installed rebuilt correct round back alternator; Replaced heater hoses and radiator hoses; Painted rocker covers; Installed new speedometer cable (from Atlas) for auto pilot; Lubed speedometer, restored electroluminescent power pack, restored all Astradome gauges so that pointers light up, all gauges work properly; Installed front windlacing; Had correct distributor serviced and set up on Sun machine; Replaced belts and installed new NGK plugs and new plug wires; Installed new tires.
All power windows work, brakes are Dot5, engine fires up and idles nicely, paint is terrific (but about 3 or 4 very small chips have been filled). Tachometer works. Lights work including reverse lamps. Speedometer and odometer work. Clock does not.
The bad or ugly: This was an originally WHITE car that was restored in BLACK. Frame is great but the car has some improper metal work; some pieces of floor pan and trunk pan sheet metal were replaced with proper metal, but which was screwed down and not fully perimeter welded. You would need to do work on the floors prior to driving the car in the rain to make sure everything is sealed. We never drove in the rain. There is some wear on right rear of headliner (shown) and a couple places on door panels. The car is a reliable driver but given the discrepancies, we put the price at $35K. Located in Virginia near Fredericksburg. Odometer TMU.
