1962 Imperial 2Dr Restoration Has Started

I was wrong @cbarge There are Crown emblems in the parts boxes so I assumed it was a Crown but the 912 says the regular Imperial.

Thanks for posting the fender tag pic. See the attached reports. I need your help on a few things: Was there a power antenna in the hole on the LF fender? The Order Code says Power Antenna, but I'm not sure. Is that a "0" (zero) under the letter A? Whichever, this is a rarely seen Fender Tag entry. and I have no reference to explain it. Is there any indication the car once had sill and wheel-opening moldings? AI indicates A+0 stands for "No A/C" and this may make sense if the car does not have A/C. Likely a rarity that needed flagging. Thanks for any assistance you can provide for my decoder's development.

There are two power antenna's that came with it so I'd say yes and it does have wheel opening and rocker moldings. It is a non A/C car although it does have an under dash unit. and yes it sure looks like a zero under the A.

Only 826 2dr Customs were built.
Being the " Basic" model, A/C and power windows were an option!
Power windows were standard in the Crown and Lebaron
This " Custom" model was geared to compete with the Sixty Series Cadillac- a trim level cheaper than the DeVille. Later in 1965 was renamed Calais

Thanks Lea! Guess I got a pretty rare bird! Mine does have power windows but not air.

Removed the brake booster today. Waiting to hear back from Power Brake Exchange so I can get it sent out for rebuild. I did notice the master cylinder is leaking so that will be replaced also. Should be able to drive it down the highway after this! Can't wait!

Got my booster back from Power Brake Exchange today. Very quick turn around. 11 days counting shipping both ways! I'll try to find time to get it installed tomorrow.

Installed the rebuilt booster and new master cylinder. Now she stops! Was able to drive it around the block. The drive did reveal an immediate need for a front suspension rebuild. Made a lot of clunky sounds!

Today I got the front end sheet metal aligned. Before there was no room for the hood to close. Also cleaned, lube and adjusted the hood release cable and made sure it worked before bolting in the grilles. I installed the front bumper I got with my parts haul and am very happy with it's condition. Straight with decent shine.

Put the rear bumper on and the wheel opening moldings and rocker moldings. Next step is getting the windows all in and working. Also since I had it up on the lift I took better pictures of the dual exhaust.

Rides a lot better with new tires. Of course the old ones were 25 years old, one was a studded snow tire, one had a tube in it and one the tire shop couldn't break the bead to get it off the rim. Sad thing is they all had over 90% tread left!

Where are the tires made ? I am curious how they hold up and if the Whitewall stays white. I need new tires soon and there are Not very many choices.
