I am about to be the owner of a 1962 Imperial, not sure why it was an impulse buy!

Anyway first thing it will need is all new brakes, they don't work right now. I would rather switch the fronts to disc, so does anyone make a good kit to swap them out? I will need master cylinder and everything, want to keep the stock booster.

Shoes are still available. If the drums are still serviceable, that's your easy button solution.

The upper and lower balljoints are the same as Dodge pickups to 1993 and 71 to 73 Imperials. I believe one of the articles linked above shows you could use a 71-73 Imperial spindle on a 62 and have it for the most part, bolt in. Rotors could be a challenge but there are options there, also explained in the articles.

The Ram Man Inc advertises a disc brake kit for 62-72 Imperials, based (to my understanding) on 71-73 Imperial spindles:
IMPERIAL (1962-1972) FRONT DISC KIT (Standard Rotors)

I inquired about it few years back and he was then working on to have a new kit that would be a bolt-on to the original spindles:

I have not investigated it further as the original brakes in my 62 LeBaron function fine but for future, it be nice option, as the drums are getting scarce.

There was another member that bought his disc brake kit a few years ago and the spindles were not even close. Take a look starting at post #30 in this thread. New C-Body Spindles for Disc Brakes.

So, if he has the correct spindles, great... But I'm skeptical about it.

Wow, looks a bit "scetchy" to say the least. Lucky I did not go further with the conversion then...
I ended up buying a kit from AAJ BRAKES Disc Brake Conversion Kits (503) 890-1469

I have it all installed and it fit, but still chasing brake issues.
OK, how was the kit?

There is a description (in Finnish, unfortunately) of 63 Imp. conversion with Scarebirds adapters https://www.scarebird.com/shop/sb10...0-front-disc-3070?fitment_make=Chrysler#attr= and Dodge Ram discs:
1963 Imperial "Kerttu"

According the description, there were some small modifications required (spacer for wheels so it does not rub the caliper etc.) but otherwise quite straightforward.

The AAJ kit seems to fit fine, I had no issues putting it on. Only modification I made was drilling out the rotors to use the original 9/16 studs. All you buy from him are brackets and hardware. Then he give you a list of disc, calipers, master cylender, hoses, ect to buy. It is all off the shelf stuff.
