Despite being classified by early 60's standards as a compact car,it is surprisingly roomy inside. This car has one of the shortest or skinny dashes built in a passenger car in it day.
Not like today's 4 foot dashes before the windshield (Cab forward design of the 90's)
I worked and drove a 62 Lancer and they do have a nice ride.
Although the Slant Six was designed to fit the early A bodies, don't kid yourself when it comes to wrenching onder the hood--there is NO ROOM!
Finally,The Valiant and Lancer's were the only 1962 Chrysler products to have "fins".
2 door examples are rare and even less common 58 years later.

Even with the automatic trans. it still probably has at least decent pick-up, and as most slant 6's go, this one should be good for at least another 485K miles...…….

The 170 /6 with all of its mighty 98 HP actually has a really good torque band and with the right rear gears, can get up to 70 MPH no problem.
They are bullet proof but are not a rev happy engine, best making its power down low.
Like any engine, maintenance is key..especially valve lash adjustments on the Slant Six.
Not until the 80's,the Slanty had solid lifters giving the engine its unique sewing machine sound,LOL!!

From a red light, a /6 in an A-body would lift the front end and pin you in the seat.
For the first 20 ft.
