1963 Chrysler 300 J. One of only 400 made, making it the rarest of the letter cars. These cars were factory hot rods, and were beefier than the non letter series Chryslers in almost every regard, from the HP big block 413 to the suspension, brakes, interior options etc.
here's what i know about the car prior to me buying it:
This originally claret colored low miles and well optioned car was purchased by the previous owner with intentions of a full rotisserie restoration. It was a super solid car to begin with, with the only real rot being in its rockers, and a bit in the front fenders. The car was disassembled entirely, and rust free rockers and fenders were purchased from Arizona. Then all the sheet metal was soda blasted and epoxy sealed.
At the same time the motor and trans were sent to a shop for a complete rebuild and unfortunately, they were "stolen," according to the shop owner. This halted the project and the car proceeded to sit for the next 2 decades. When I say that this car was disassembled, I mean completely, but unlike anything I've ever seen: the owner bagged and tagged LITERALLY every nut, bolt, and piece of hardware. He spent thousands on new chrome, trim, rubber seals, new hardware, steering wheel restoration, etc. He also stored everything from the car in a temperature controlled loft above his garage.
Condition-wise, the car is solid. It needs rust repair in the rockers, but comes with a complete rust free pair. The floors, doors, hood, trunk, cowl, frame, etc are all very nice. The glass is beautiful, and the red leather interior is in surprisingly nice shape. The dash pad, door panels, and rear side panels are perfect. Even the original carpet is nice. I can't be 100% positive, but from what I can tell, the car seems complete, (albeit in a bunch of boxes), minus the motor and trans. All the J emblems and J specific components like the special fender wells, remote brake booster, 150mph speedo, etc are accounted for. Comes with a ton of research binders, books and paperwork. I also have a line on a 63 date coded 413/727 locally that I can pass on if you're interested.

This is a project, and will be a pretty serious undertaking, but it's a phenomenal start to a very RARE and totally worthwhile finished car. I welcome any questions.
