I´ve seen this 65 NY for sale severall times on craigslist and Ebay (highest bid $1500 I believe) but other than the location where it´s for sale I can´t see (from the pictures and given information) what´s wrong with it. Does any one of you know this car or has seen it at a show.
It´s highly optioned and looks very nice. The wheels are not really to my taste but that´s easy to replace.

Any information is welcome.

Very nice!

Looks to be a nice car but pictures can hide alot.It says 50K original miles,so condition should be very clean. The price seems reasonable assuming everything on the car works. If things need to be fixed or replace start deducting from there. It does make you wonder why someone put 20" rims on it and a 1500 watt stereo system? Just hoping there aren't other unforseen mods to this car that may hurt it's value.

If you blow the pics up you can see there's some possible rust issues going on in the lower parts like front Fender, rocker Panels beneath the trim. Paint should look not so good I guess as supposed to be in the pics, some spots with primer showing through already, stains and blending, they like to call it Patina These days, others call them flaws.

Thanks for the replies, rust is my main concern. I´m in the market for an original 65 NY 2dr, preferably an early one with the rear glass lenses.
I like this one because it´s loaded with options. The stereo and wheels can be undone, I rather have fainted original paint job then a bad repaint that hides `problems`. When I blow up the pictures I also see some areas of concern and in general rust is 10 times worse then what you see in the pictures.

I would have someone (preferably you) on the ground to eyeball the car in person before buying this car. Pictures can be very deceiving!

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I like the wheels. On a four door I don't think they would work, but they make that 2 door look very sporty. The part that cracks me up is the trunk. Even with the largest speaker enclosure I've ever seen in a vehicle, there is still room for luggage for a family of four to go on vacation for a few weeks. I'm not crazy about the interior (that's not original is it?), but I'd drive it!

That has been for sale for quite a long time. I almost went and looked at it probably 8 months ago.

Taking a look myself isn't an option, I'm a bit too far away. Too bad nobody has seen it up close. I'll see what the seller has to tell.

This is the response of the sller to my questions
Alex,The body is rock solid. However, there is some surface rust on the lower doors, rockers and underneath typical to a car over 50 yrs old. There is one area over the driver's fender skirt that has had some rust repair done to it and it looks like they used some filler in that area.. The paint is mostly original but has been touched up here and there. It is faded and is flaking off is some spots and could use a repaint. It looks decent from 25 feet away but as you come closer you can see the imperfections. Unfortunately, those are the only pics I have currently. Anytime you'd like to see the car in-person, please feel free to call me at set-up a time to check it out.

Mmm a rock solid car that has had rust repair and also has surface rust, no additional pictures to show the real condition. I think I'll let this one slide...

Unless there are detailed pictures, and I mean alot of pictures,I'd stay away from this one.Too many owners trying to sell their cars try to talk down the rust issue as if it were little. Usually anytime these cars start to rust,it's at least twice as bad as what pictures will show.A picture cannot show what's lying underneath paint and rust usually spreads from the backside. If it's rotting on the lower section of the doors, that could be a major problem area for a repair and will just keep coming back unless it's completely removed and replaced.Usually this is due to too much junk getting into the doors past the seals and clogging the drain holes that are built into the bottoms of the doors. Either have someone who knows what they're doing look at the car to access the damage or you'll be taking your chances.
