Hi all! I'm working on getting my 65 New Yorker town sedan on the road.
The brake booster in my car decided that it wanted to fail during a panic stop (luckily didn't crash haha), and I am seeking out a replacement.
I haven't been able to find any replacements for this, and I'm considering going down the route of a retrofitted GM booster/dual reservoir master cylinder. Would this be a good idea?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@CitroDog -- like @darth_linux I can vouch for Booster Dewey and Booster Steve at the Power Brake Booster Exchange. I've had several boosters rebuilt by either of them in the past 6 years, with many thousands of miles on several of the rebuilt units: their work is excellent.

Would love to see more of your 1965 NYer and to hear about its history.

I'll shoot them an email then! I got nothing to lose.

My car has been a local car since it was new. My uncle used to park next to this thing in his 65 Newport in my local ShopRite's parking lot in the 1970s haha. It's got 412,000 miles on it, and I basically saved it from the scrapyard when the previous owner was selling their house. It had been sitting since 2016 due to the cross-member having a severe rust issue. The previous owner was too old to fix it, and subsequently let the car sit. It's got a 413 (single exhaust) that runs like a top. Practically started first crank when I got in it after 8 years haha

I too, vote for getting your booster rebuilt and swapping in a dual bowl master from a later C body. Stay away from mis-matching brake parts from other manufacturers. Brakes are way too important for all that trial and error.

Thanks for those pictures! Considering that is the lower-production 6-Window Town Sedan model, it IS definitely worth saving, even with the rust issues. Those cars were beautiful when new . . . and can be again!
