1965 Plymouth Fury 4 Door Hardtop rebuild

As far as the engine goes the old adage "Go big or go home!" will eventually be the proof in the pudding. No one pushes me around on the pavement with a 512 stroker - it eats 318's and 360's for breakfast and craps on most 440's. It takes a bit talent to install new pearches for the mounts but once the engines in, it'll haul the metal around like no tomorrow and you'll know exactly what that middle finger's for.

Testosterone pumping full tilt I see...
I learned a lesson a very long time ago.
It's guaranteed that you will come up against someone that will be faster than you. Always...

My Dad always says there is someone faster, bigger, stronger, smarter...

I hadn't heard of this guy till he was mentioned in a different thread Gary Goers in Kalispell, MT. You might give him a look. His website is anything but fancy.

True, there's always someone faster, but not today! If I had to drive a "soggy bottom" car, I'd buy a 58 Edsel, but what's the sport in that. Power everything cause most people buying those kind of cars kissed their testosterone goodbye years ago and don't have the balls or the will to withstand severe excelleration.

Different strokes, I'm glad mine has the 440 Super Commando but I was looking at a black one with a 318 before I bought this one, I was too slow on that. I also looked at a 61 Dodge Phoenix with a slant six. I will always pass by a mod for a nice survivor or restoration regardless of the motor.

Yea I'm torn still on which way I will go with the motor but I have tons of time to decide.

Hope to get the metal patched/repaired up over the next month and then sent off to paint

Stick with the 440 and "Do it once, do it right!" Lots of room for power improvements in the future and that engine is a good platform to work with right from the beginning. It will only get outdated in the future if you let it or run out of cash.

Not many Fury III 4 door hardtops were built.
When new,the price tag on them was more than the 2 door convertible.
As mentioned before,a lot of 65 only schtuff going on with your car.
FYI,the front and rear glass is unique to the 65-66 Fury 4dr hardtops.
Congrats on saving your Grandpa's car and welcome.
I have a soft spot for the 4dr hardtops, keep up the good work.

Finally got the car back from blast and prime.
