1966 300 mouldings

I am disassembling my 300 for restoration and I am in the process of removing various mouldings and was looking for any tips from all the experience here.

Top moulding that goes full length of car. Is there any way to get the moulding off of the clips without ruining the clips. I understand that I can loosen door and let it hang to allow trim to slide by. Is there a way to get them off without doing that. Are these clips available anywhere?

I believe the lower moulding has similar clips, only smaller. Any tricks to getting these off and are these clips available?

These pieces seem to have some kind of rubber nut that just spins. Even when the fender comes off it looks like at least 2 of the screws are not accessible from the back due to fender reinforcement panels. Anyone have experience removing these? If so what did you use to reinstall them?

Not the clearest picture. It's way back there.

I also broke 2 lower windshield moulding clips. Looking for somewhere to get some of those as well.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like there is a graphic of what clips go with which moldings in which positions? In the Chrysler service manual or in the Chrysler Parts Manual?

Thanks, what I am trying to figure out is how to get the moulding off the clips and where to get new clips if I break some. I do have the service manual that identifies them.
 
One of the main molding clip/retainer suppliers used to be "Au-ve-co".
 
I make the clips. There are 2 main styles at the top. The black ones are located in accessible areas in the trunk, they slide off the trim after the trim is removed. There are also black ones on the front fender but only accessible if you remove the inner wheel wells. The main rest are white ones attached to the car with push pins and are mounted to the car and the trim is snapped on to them. Some can be saved depending on how crispy they got over the years. There is one on the leading edge of the door which can be removed when the door is open. There is an acorn nut holding it in place. I make them too but they can almost always be saved when you know they are there.

I think I will wait until the fenders are off and then slide the trim off to try and save the clips. It looks like the door and rear quarter trim may slide off as well. Fender trim won't get past the door with fender on the car. Do you make the clips for the lower trim as well?

That is what I tell everyone, see how many you can save. I think I lost about 10 when I removed mine, but my car had been garaged it's entire life, so my clips were in really good shape.

I do make the lower clips too. I was very careful and don't think I lost a single clip from the lower trim. I removed the top trim first and figured out the best technique for removal on them.
 
I'm starting to remove the trim on my 66 300. I was wondering how do I get the pin out of the clips in locations where I can't get to the back side. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bill you will basically loose those pins. You have to push them through then you can remove the clip. If you get some of my clips I can send you the push pins for the clips you are able to use.

I tried something on one of the small clips. I drilled a very small hole then put a small screw in the hole and was able to get the pin out that way. This method may not be successful on some if they are really stuck in there.
