I have a 66 Chrysler 300 2dr with 383 4bbl auto trans. I had a shop check out the radiator and the tank and core are bad. Part number on radiator is 2582960. Can't find this number in my part books they show a 2582959 and 2582961. The radiator I have is a 22 inch 2 core. Can anyone tell me anything about this radiator.

Odd that they skipped over the 960...
See what I did there?

I have a nice 26” radiator out of a ‘66 300 available if the core support will accommodate it.

Thank you I don't think the core support will fit a 26 inch on my car. Probably going to get a new one from US radiator. Was wondering about the odd part number though.

Something to consider I had the core replaced in my 66 300 radiator 6 years 11000 miles still great, never overheats. We have an old school radiator shop that does this all the time tractors and classic cars

Sorry I didn't read you post very well, so it sounds like it can't be re-cored, because of the bad tank. I can't help, but my 66 is an early build and there seems to be different parts that don't match up. I have never measured mine to see if it is smaller.

I will be at my shop later today and will check mine, but that really isn't helping you. My expectations is possibly a 65 tank was carried over to at least the early production of 66. Just a speculation.

Check with Murray Park. I bet he has a rebuild-able radiator with a good tank. Also, your core support won't accommodate a 26" radiator, unless you install a different support.

I have a 22" 2 core radiator that will fit what you need in very good condition if you are interested...
Check the location of the inlets and outlets to see if this will work.

Thank you everyone. I found a shop that can fix my radiator not locally. The shop also told me that the wierd part number on my radar for means that it was the one installed at the factory and if it needed to be replaced then you would use the radiator with the other part numbers either 2582959 or 2582961 the one in my car is 2582960 so I would use the 2961for my car. Learning alot on this car doing all this stuff.
