The more I look at it the uglier it gets. I don't know what they were thinking. Thank God they only made one!

Stan's right I'd rather have the real T-Bird than that abortion.

Actually it's sad that this car had to be Duesenbergs swan song.

I remember when Exner was involved in designing these "Revival" cars and the plastic models that were popular at the time. They did prototypes of a Mercer and a Bugatti too.

The Duesenberg, being a prototype, is a little over the top for me, but it has some cool styling features that catch my eye. The roofline is hideous though. It was just a few years later that the Stutz Blackhawk was produced and a bunch of rich stars were driving those fugly monsters. Elvis hisself bought one from a local dealer.

What’s wrong with the roofline on that one???

Everyone wants a car like no one else when at a car show....if I had that much money to spend it would be on a Facel Vega. The reality is most of our full size Mopars from the 1970's and earlier will not see another there and people will comment "I cannot remember when I have seen one of these cars".

If one hasthe need to be the only one at a show with a car, for gawd sake at least show you have some knowledge and class.
These Miami Country Club attention ***** cars are an attack on my sensibilities.
Do you really think I'm impressed??? Azzhole.

On the Blackhawk or the Duesenberg?

The Duesenberg has all these rounded and swoopy lines until you hit that C-pillar/sail panel. Then it just looks like it was stuck on as an afterthought. I think they could have matched the wheel opening angle so it flowed more.

The Blackhawk actually has an OK roofline, the angle is different enough from the rest of the body lines that it looks right to me.

Wait a minute, who’s an azzhole?

The one you posted, I think the roofline is it’s nicest attribute.

Old rich men in Miami who bought those Blackhawks and kit car Deusies. The ones with hair transpants instead of a hat.

Are you referring to the owner with a hat or his cat with a hat?

P.S. I'm still patiently waiting for the pics and story of your black and silver NYB.....I love the color combination.

As a kid, I had a neighbor named Louie. He was a mass hoarder in his mid 70's. A comical guy, that couldn't say no. He bought a farm with a friend and they stuffed it with cars. 100's. Almost all junk. He was always buying, rarely selling. I tried to buy a blue 64 Cadillac convertible, like the one on Miami Vice for sometime, with no luck. Anyways, he had a mint Rolls Royce replica (whatever type want to call it) in his garage. The car had about 6000 original miles, made by some factory out of a Monte Carlo. Really a hideous car, but he was loved it. ( Not the actual car, but this is what it looked like)

lol. Thanks. Truth be told, it was simply a one owner lil ol lady car she bought new.
When I got it, a lot of the paint was simply buffed beyond reclamation so I repainted it. I had the audacity to add the black simply because I always thoght the factory two tones of The Malaise Era were sexy. I was disappointed that Chrysler never offered two tones on Formals. The purists cringe but I insist it era correct. In 78 I ordered a LeSabre Sport Coupe in Silver/Black.

This is the closest I could find on Google.
