1966 Chrysler New Yorker

ALL ORIGINAL showroom quality 1966 New Yorker with only 16,000 miles!

engine is a 440 V8 with a single 4 barrel carb. (NOT REBUILD STATUS, low kms)
RWD (rear-wheel drive), automatic 3-speed gearbox.
Disc brakes all around.

Im the second owner, my uncle was the original owner. It has been babied all its life and only taken to parades, shows and sunday drivings. Not a spec of rust anywhere on it. Not a single bit of bondo, rust repair, dents, damages etc whatsoever anywhere on the body or frame. The inside is mint condition, from the dash and original radio to the door leather and floor carpeting! Everything runs like the first day out of factory. Always been meticulously maintained with best products and run at least once a week.

That looks more like a faded red to me. I am not sure what year the Canadian production stopped using red, so it could possibly be correct, but not on the master cover.

The thing is he's trying to cash in large on a low optioned non-hardtop 4-door Chrysler. I think he's going to be waiting a while at that price.

Don't know about the 440, but the 383 was red as well.

Canadian production would be red which that appears to be.

My 66 came from Vancouver area and was built in Windsor Ontario. Red engine.

I don't get a 16k original vibe from it. 116k well maintained perhaps.

Odd collection of options too. Tiltoscope AM/FM and power seat but manual windows.

Paint looks recent but seems darker than under the trunk lid. Looks to be the same colour as mine.

Little on the high side I'd say. Low optioned but some interesting ones were chosen but no AC. I would have ditched the high mount brakelight on the repaint...

I absolutely adore the interior of these '65 and '66 New Yorkers. Beautifully conceived. It's so classy, real wood on the dash, and fine cloth & leather seats. No wonder they broke all Chrysler sales records in those years.

About the odometer reading; for my part, I think the vendor is stating the truth. It really has 16K on the clock. It has only has 5 digits, after all.

Canadian-built Mopars in the 50s and 60s had oddities that their US-built brethren did not. One of those was red big block engnes. It's likely from the factory. Odd, but cool. His price is waaaaayyyyy out there, for certain. Nice car, regardless.

That looks like a really nice car, but if it really has just 16 thousand miles on it I'm not sure if I would buy it. I'd rather it had 40 to 50,000 on it so I wouldn't feel guilty about putting miles on it. lol
It looks like it has a paint touch up on the firewall, unless Canadian cars came with green wiper motors!

It could just be the lighting/camera.

It looks like it was the same color as mine and mine looks darker than it really is in some photos.
