Glad you know it should be red. I see many things painted red that shouldn't be red so there has been repainting and I don't know if it's the correct color of red.
In Canada, for vehicles assembled in Windsor, ON in 1966, most of the engine and its accessories were assembled prior to being painted - so power steering, pulleys, fan spacer and pulleys were all red. Sometimes the fan itself was also engine colour. However, the air cleaner and alternator were not painted engine colour.
And yes, the 318 Red is what was used on Canadian engines.
Paul, Canadian made cars all had red engines in those years, regardless of size. USA made cars had turquoise big blocks. That's why your wagon's engine is turquoise, but my Monaco's engine is red.
