NOT MINE 1967 Imperial convertible

Hi guys,
Don't know whether you've seen it but on Houston Facebook there is a 1967 Imperial convertible, triple white, that has factory floorshift automatic with console and tach that is apparently on the build sheet. Unusual I'd say. $8,500.

I am 109% sure that there was never a console shifted ‘67 Imperial from the factory. That being said it looks like a decent job was done on the conversion. The non-existent console shifted Imperial steering column looks good but they could’ve covered the PRND21 on the dash above the column.

I'd have to think that an original console would use the same wood veneer as the rest of the car.
The tach is wedged in there too tightly.
That said, I do like the concept, but if you make the claim, show the build sheet.

Bogus documentation should always make you perk up.....

Making up paperwork always sounds good at the time but in the end, when it's time to sell, it raises more questions than it should. Simply shred it.

Yep, I’m still 109% sure this is not legit. 440 dual option wasn’t available till ‘68.

With computers today anything is possible. I know firsthand of a guy who made up his own letter alleged from Chrysler about the rarity of his car. Shame people need to try to fool others.

George E Smith Motors was a legit dealership at one time in Batavia, NY. Gone now, but I think the building still exists.
Somebody did some research, 486 is the code for a console, no "operating."
577 is code for tach, no "console mounted."
But the build card is not a repro window sticker, is it?
I thought was more like an IBM punch card?
And the print on the options list is so much clearer than the top with dealer info.
Not saying the current seller is shady, he could have been Buffaloed too.
Pentastar on passenger arm rest (wrong), does not match pentastar on console.
Still, looks like a decent car, just wrong.

Car for sale in Houston, TX, but clicking on seller profile shows his other listings in Rochester/Buffalo NY area? Hmmm.

There are far, far too many printing, layout, coding and spelling errors and omissions.

Whoever did this did not do good research. They simply looked up codes and prices they thought should be on a WS.

IF the actual IBM card or broadcast sheet, does exits, that would be very helpful. This document is not.

Just dug some more, the car is in supposedly Houston, photo shows sign and phone for J&J auto. Research shows that to be in Clifton Springs, NY.
I call shenanigans.

Now his seller profile shows the Imperial for sale in Hudson, NH, Beverly Hills, CA, Benicia, CA, and Houston, TX.
I'm going to bed now. Wonder where it will be in the AM.
Now I'm saying the current seller is indeed shady.
