I didn't know there was so much proper Grammar that went along with owning a C-body Stub frames and Fast tops the sure grip/posi thing is a real annoying one I was always taught that Mopar is Sure grip

It's about pride.
For the earliest members that stayed on, it has have been for the most part their passion.

It's not a proper grammar thing .. Fast Top IS the correct term just like Sure-Grip is correct. Fast Top isn't some jargon grin.gif

The correct name for that roofline is "Fast top" while the unwashed masses call it a fast back.
As annoying as the posie/Sure-Grip thingie.

Well don't I feel like the village idiot. My area of expertise has been late 50s, early 60s Mopars. I'm still obviously learning.

Of course...Fast top is the proper term... A "fast back" was a Ford mustang term. I never picked up on the nuance. So when did the fast top emerge? Mid 60s 2dr sport coupes were still called hard tops until when, 67(?) with the new designed coupe roofline?

Have fun with my mistake. I'm just a new guy here trying to enjoy the hobby and learn when I can from the experts who also love the hobby. Appreciate the assist. And thanks for the laugh. :sSig_thanks:

We are all learning here, even the experts! The laughter is just a bonus, a big one at that.

Nobody is laughing at you. We're just a bunch of smart asses and know it alls. LOL!
Fast tops were available on the 67-68 Fury and were the standard two door on the 67-68 Chryslers.

Can somebody clarify the 67-68 Dodges, USA and Canadian cars?
I'm still learning.

All 2 door dodge monaco, and dodge polara 1967, and 1968 that were not a convertible were fast top roof cars.

Here's a few examples of Fastbacks... Basically a straight line from the top of the rear window to the back edge of the deck lid.

'64 -'66 and the majority of the '67-'69 Barracudas
'66 -'67 Chargers
Mid 60s AMC Marlins
Misc Mustangs, Torinos etc...

Those 2nd generation Bakaruda fastbackz could hide an 18 wheeler in the blind spot. The only place I ever felt safe in one ah those waz on the 1320' where it didn't matter

Strangly enough, these Fords have aways been referred to as "fast backs" by the Fordinites.

If you Google galaxie fast back, a ton of hits come up.
Whether it was an official FoMoCo term, I do not know.
I just grew up hearing it.

What continues to perplex me is how somebody can ask $3500 for a car, yet he can't be bothered to take pictures with anything besides a cell phone. Or can't be bothered to take decent ones, I should say.

Safe to say sellers are either hiding something or they are too uninformed to know what folks need to see or simply don't care enough to try to do it right. Maybe they figure an idiot will come along and buy it without looking closely.
