1967 Plymouth fury III hazard light question??

I'm not completely sure of this but I always thought that if the car was originally equipped from the factory with things like hazard lights, seat belts etc, then the state inspection would require said items to be present and functional to pass. I know that in 1968, the Plymouth Fury's and I believe other models were equipped with the small side lights.
I want to have my hazard lights in working order for safety reasons.

That was always the rule of thumb with NYS inspections. If there was a light of any kind, it was expected to work. Of course, a lot of that depends on the interpretation of the tech doing the inspection. If you look at the link I posted to Mass state inspection criteria, it shows your '67 Fury as needing hazard lights to pass... So your guy did you a favor.

Yea, they had the side marker light in 1968, but switched to a reflector in 1969 and then back to a light in 1970. There was a bunch of things going on back around 1967-1970 and a lot of guys get really confused about what change happened when. Example; If you look at the opening for the gas filler tube on the rear body panel for a 1969 Roadrunner, it's oval if the car was made later than Jan 1, 1969 and round if made before that.... They had changed the opening to comply with some rear crash standard. It's interesting stuff...

BTW, "state" inspections are done at private shops here... I know some states have a state run inspection station.

I saw in your post that part of the MASS requirements for the 1967 model cars and the hazard lights are one of them. Thanks Big_John for that. The inspection guy did indeed do me a favor and I am sure that he is counting on me to correct this. I have been getting inspections there since 1958 and back then the sticker was fifty cents and done twice a year, spring and fall. They checked lights, parking brake, exhaust, tires, horn and wipers. Jacking the cars up and checking steering parts began around 1963 I recall. A lot of changes have occurred since then.
