Hi everyone my name is Josh.

The car: All original 1967 Plymouth Fury III 2 door hardtop 318 Automatic 72,000 miles

I got this car from my uncle when I was 14. I now have some money to start putting into the car. The car runs and drives fine I just need to tidy it up. I just put two front wheel cylinders and brakes all the way around. The front wheel cylinders had locked up and warn the shoes down. I also need a radiator so I just ordred a factory replacement from U.S. radiator and should have that in 2weeks. The next few plans are as follows.

-New valve cover gaskets.
-Body/Paint (the body itself is in pretty good condition. The clear coat has come off the hood roof and truck and has started small spots of surface rust but, other than that everything is good.)
-Interior (the only stuff wrong in the interior is the dash pad is cracked in the middle and the front bench seat has ripped on both sides and the top of the bench seat has cracked from the sun in the back window.

Other little issues with the car:
-When I use my turn signals they dont automatically click off. You can hear it click but they stay flashing. I dont know much about electical problems of how to tackle that one.
-The front top fender corner flashers do not work.

Other than that the car is in really good shape. Im looking to start driving this car alot more and really enjoy a car that I have had for a while. My plans are to keep the car as original as possible. No resto mods here, just a clean good looking factory Fury.

I will post some pictures later So everyone can see what Im working with and if anyone has any reccomendations allong the way feel free to add them.

Thanks

Awesome! Welcome! I just took delivery of a 1968 fury III convertible big block car....pics are in this forum.

your turn signals not cancelling could be a couple things. 1. the steering wheel isn't on in the correct orientation...there's a little pin that touches a lever as the wheel rotates to turn them off. or 2. the little pin or little cancel lever on the stalk is broken. it still might click, but there won't be enough leverage to make the switch turn off.

I had this problem also. It was a simple fix, dirt and whatnot over the years managed to get between the two connectors that meet together inside the fender. I pulled them apart, cleaned them up, added a bit of dielectric grease inside the female connector, reconnect and they've worked bright and flawlessly ever since. Might be something as simple as that. I'd check it out.
