Welding clamps and electrical tubing? A sufficient abomination to deserve a quick trip to the crusher. Wonder if anyone told the folks in Compton that real converts have a very substantial steel beam inside the rockers to prevent the body from collapsing.

Wouldn't it have been more sensible to start with reupholstery before trying to do a convertible conversion ?

New work includes valve cover gaskets. Needed work recommend by mechanic.... new valve gaskets.

LOL I wouldn't use those for any welding more like Home Depot DIY clamps.

Forgot all about vert frame reinforcement, surprised Cali DMV would allow it to even roll down the road...

They probably have not seen it yet, Pink slip probably still says PH23 (hardtop). Could be Home depot DYI camps. Harbor Freight sells an "insulated" welding clamp that looks a lot like these. Would not use either to weld with.

Looks like there is about 2-3 inches of the factory top of the windshield frame that is covered with friction tape? Might make for some top the head modifications for the front seat passenger on a crash or hard stop. Ouch!
