"After doing some digging and talking to Galen Govier, Donald was excited to find out that the Polara is believed to be one of one ever built! Donald finishes by saying “I think that my Polara could be a great addition to a serious car collection among other rare Mopars. "

Translation: He wants a zillion bucks for the car now because of Galen.

Owner is a jackass. Car ordered by his father back in 1968 and now all he can think of is that it would be great in a serious collectors collection. If my father had ordered it there would only be one place for that car and that is in my possession for as long as I live. Of course it is not the worse thing a son could do from what I have seen. The worst is a son selling off their father's military uniform, particularly A1 and G2 leather jackets, that I have seen on eBay.

I have a variety of things that belonged to my Mom who died 20 years ago. Much of it has sat on shelves in the basement. Since my kids are grown, some married with houses I gave things of hers to them but some things are a burden to keep. They are better served to someone who will show them rather than sit on a shelf in the basement.
The things the kids have now are mostly Crystal, and Christmas ornaments that they recall but who want that Bell and Howell Camera and Projector ? ........

It looks to have a '67 steering wheel. The '68 steering wheels had interior colored horn buttons and this one is chrome.

Was this a deviation for Canadian cars? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

It was a travesty of a mockery of a sham that it was built in yellow. They should have made them build another to spec in gold, and then there would have been two 440 4-speed 4 doors out there.

Of course the yellow one would have ended up a derby car.

My 68 was a Canadian car and it had the int colored coated foam horn button. The 67 wheel would have either been a 3 spoke deep dish with chrome horn stems and button or two spoke with ring dressed similarly. This is a 68 wheel on this car with the flat finished horn ring and two spokes ... as for the button, I'm not sure but I don't think it's a 67 as the 67's were taller than that.

And knowing my luck with and love of the yeller cars, it would have wound up being mine!

Possible early production variance, or used the Monaco horn button if the foam one was not available? There are discrepancies like that fairly often if you look for them.

Also, as I remember, the foam padded buttons were not brand specific as they had no logo on them... I'm pretty sure they went into Fury's and non 500 Monacos/Polaras in 68 exclusively.

Agreed - so perhaps that car got a Monaco 500 button either by mistake or because the tan coloured one wasn't available that day... just an idea.

Could be... Might have been ordered that way as well. Quick look through google images, there are a few like that. Not as many as the padded but a few.

Discussion of this car is a waste of time. Sorry I posted it.
I'd just as soon have the 4 spd Fury 4 dr that is in another thread.

I was going to say Govier says it's one of one because he really has no friggin idea!

No argument here. I'd rather talk about or own a car that is realistic than a over valued, respray from a barn in quebec.
