Great job. You shouldn't have any trouble selling that car.

This thing is still available. I would like to get this thing sold so I can go buy a 300 convertible I found. Somebody help me out and take it off my hands.

Congratulations. Did the buyer find it through this forum? Did the buyer indicate his intentions with the car?

I'm pretty sure the buyer found it on craigslist. He said he was going to finish going through the mechanicals, do the interior, and drive it as is. He is in a band and wanted a wagon to carry his band mates and all their equipment.

Thats great news.....someone from this board?

.................... upon further review Stan already asked the question

Hey guys - I own this car now. It's at my buddy's place in Michigan and I traded it for a 79 Aspen Coupe, a real E58 360 Hi-po car I bought last summer. :)

The motor is worn out and must be rebuilt, or maybe just swapped out. I am considering selling the car or perhaps trade it along with my 64 Dodge 440 Golden Anniversary for one car. It's cheaper to import one than two cars to Norway...and we also have my wife's 67 Newport Custom being restored as well sitting in MI.

The car now has a built 383 is is being shipped home to Norway. It will be a father and sons project this winter :)

Congratulations sounds like a great winter project. What are you plans the first winter?

Sounds like a happy ending for the wagon.
WARNING......! If that car doesn't get stripped, treated and painted soon it will be facing some serious rust issues in nasty places.

A part of me would really like to see that car Just Satin Clear coated. Like what *** monkey does.

Although I really don't understand the appeal of the "salvage yard" look it seems to be very popular. A clear coat would spell death for this car. Remove the window trim, drip rail moldings etc and you'll find severely pitted metal and channels. Next stage is rust through.

*** monkeys are *** monkeys for a reason.

We will probably start with preserving the patina with a matte finish clear coat. Further we will use DP 90 or similar on the whole underside. Sound deadening and a new carpet, headliner and stereo will probably be it. And we will put some Dog Dish caps on it.

And I was thinking the car would be saved........

The car will be saved the way WE want it. A total resto would mean loads of $$$ we never will get back. We're doing that to our 67 Newport Custom instead.
