1968 Fury Convertible Project

Wow. Never new that. I thought drive ins went extinct long ago. I'll have to check it out. Sounds really cool, esp if ya got a classic car to take there, esp if your classic car is a mopar. Thanks

A bit expensive but you get two movies.... This one closed up years ago and someone bought it and reopened it. Once a year they show a car oriented movie there and hold the front six rows for the classics.
Yup, I immediately googled it, thanks. What's the date for car movie? I can't wait to check it out. I bet you take the vert, right?

That was last Saturday ... They showed " Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad world". . . . . . . . .

In previous years they had shown, The Disney movie, Cars... American Graffiti, Bullitt, Smokey and the Bandit, and others I can not recall.

This year attendance was way down with the classics

I wonder why participation has dwindled down so much? Last time I was there (years ago - and I have TONS of pics if there's any interest) the place was packed. I remember specifically a Hemi Cuda that used to show up every year for the races. That car was a consummate badass, a 4spd with a big chrome cover dana rearend. It literally sounded like thunder when he was rowing that thing towards the time clocks.

Because they didn't maintain one consistent weekend, no draw.. ..like the wheel Standers and the entry fee became outrageous .

Different promoters now

Engine Pulled!

Ok - not very exciting to this group I'm sure - but for us this was the very first engine pull. It took us quite a while getting to the point where the engine was ready to pull - lots of reading, tagging and bagging of parts as they came off. But then we were able to get it out so I thought I'd share some of the pics.

Choices, choices

So since we'd successfully mounted an engine on a stand - we thought it would be fun to repeat the process with the 440 that we'd previously picked up.

They should make for some nice comparison pictures...
