I just sent the seller a scathing email about his "rare" 67 VIP.

The only reason I popped off on this jerk is because of the BS he slung in the 1st paragraph. I hate flippers who think everything they have is "rare" when they don't know their arse from their elbow. :whip:

Pfffft "RARE"........seems like everything is rare with some people.

---I'm selling my ailing grandmothers 73' Plymouth Duster with the extremely rare 2dr body style and super rare 318 2bbl V8 option.

It's getting crazy out there.

I have a '67 VIP 2drht. I believe the total production for the 2drht was 2100-2200 with no engine breakdown. Mine has a 383 Commando 4bbl and most Furys were 318 cars, so I expect it is quite rare, however I don't know that it makes it greatly desirable/worth money.

Mine has a pretty decent body, but the carb was robbed before I bought it and I fully expect that the engine is siezed. I would be happy to take $800 for it.

Wasn't the 1968 model year the first year that Mopar used side marker lamps. Mopar used those round side markers on everything except Imperials in 1968. That Fury has side marker lamps.

The small lights were '68 only, followed by reflectors for '69, and then followed by a light/reflector combo.

Stan is absolutely right, it's a '68. The guy selling the car is a moron, acting like the car is something special because of a mistake on the title, or a simply a state that lists the year that the vehicle is titled vs. the actual model year. Even without pictures of the car, you can see in the paperwork that he photographed, it states for '68 models, not to mention the VIN's 6th digit PP23G8....

The '68 Imperials had the marker lights also.

I just sent the seller a scathing email about his "rare" 67 VIP. It's a 68 pure and simple!

Any response from him Stan? The car is clearly a 68........

Notice he is a Rangers fan?:mob:

It's a `68 and a rather nice one at that! I did my part and let him know too, see if he changes the ad.

Dear stanleyp,

Whatever you say Stan, the PA title still says 1967 since it was put into service on 10/17/1967. In my eyes that makes it a Bit "Unique" being that it is built on a 1968 Body.

In "his" eyes it's unique cuz the DMV made a mistake...

"6/20/12, I am getting emails from fellow ebayers stating that this car is a 1968 and not a 1967. Please refer to the Commonwealth of PA Certificate of Tile for a Vehicle that was just posted in place of picture 24. I must disclose in truth the item that I am selling. I am not selling a 1968 VIP, I am selling a 1967 Plymouth VIP as stated in the PA Title. It was sold in 1967, rolled out of the showroom in 1967 and titled as a 1967. Should you believe that this car is a 1968 by all means please do so and thanks for all of your pleasant emails to me."
:Groaner:

Yup, no-hoper moron, and the next state to title it will correct it.

I bought my maroon '68 300 from Iowa, and the weight was rounded off to an even 4000#, so when I transferred the title to SD they asked me a few questions... (AC, power windows, seats etc.) and they came up with 3985# from a book and it was the same weight as my red '68 title. The car on the scale weighs about 4500#.

I got the same reply from this moron to which I replied back that the 6th digit of the vin denotes the last digit of the model year, thus "8" = 1968. I expect to not hear from him again. I wonder how many have called him on it?

I don't think anyone believes it's a 1967 VIP except him.
