Did you ever do something so bad that your father couldn't even speek to you because he feared what he might say or do?? Dad, I mean Stan, it was just a joke, really!

Hey. I'll admit it. I worked with quite a few 'tards. Especially the younger ones with no work ethic.
I miss us "original bunch". 1971. 34 drivers. I became no. 35.
Every one of us knew every other guy's wife and children by age and name.
You'd go out into the parking lot at 3:00 AM after a 15 hr. day in a blizzard and your car was shoveled out for you.
All hand loads on 1,000,000 mile equiptment.
Today? Almost 300 drivers going Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I need a new tractor. my radio doesn't work.
Today, they are all 'tards. Trust me.
Too often now I get a call that one of us has died.
I wonder who gets to open the wine and give a toast. I hope it's me and I hope it isn't.

Ah, pftttttttttttt. Sorry. Got carried away.... animated-smileys-sad-022.gif

Stan, how many OTR miles do you have lifetime? Any of the original bunch still on the road?

I haven't a clue on the miles racked up. Literally millions.
Last I heard there's only one driver left that I started with. And he had a heart attack about 6 mo. ago (same age - jeeeze). He's retiring Dec. 31 and that will be it. Best friend at work I ever had. Man we had some wild times together in our youth. And one knock-em-down fist fight. After the fist fight we went back to our beers. animated-smileys-drinking-018.gif
