Nice car. Not sure about the price but for those dollars it is certainly better than that 1970 Sport Fury GT 440+6 carcass we have seen here promoted in the past for almost the same price.

It hurts to know the numbers are out there but it would take someone a hell of a long time to put them all together. 25 68' Fury convertibles with the "L" code seems plausible. Problem is, its green

My theory is: US Army had eleventy billion gallons of ugly green paint left over from WWW2 and Korea, and Chrysler bought all of it and have been painting these cars UGLY GREEN from 1955-2014!

Topic: 1968 Sport Fury Conv. Factory L-Code 440HP!
Posted: Aug/13/2010 at 10:18PM

OK, guys. I'm selling my '68 Sport Fury Convertable! It's a factory L-code car with 440HP engine, 727 TF and 3.23 Sure-Grip. As anyone who has followed my postings on this site, I have done a HUGE amount of work to her:

New Brakes
New Correct grain Top
New Brakes
New Correct high-pressure power steering hose
New Carb
New Mopar Electronic Ignition
New Coil
Rebuilt/improved factory Ammeter
Correct Factory AM/FM Radio
New correct dash speaker
New Front Shocks
New Rear Air Shocks
New Tires
New Mufflers
New Fuel Tank
New Sending Unit
Original Dealer-installed Mag Wheel Covers

A Very solid car, not like your typical Mopar convertible. Great trunk, solid floors and quarters. The dash pad is cracked, but the seat upholstery is good with no rips. The rear passenger window regulator is bad, but I bought a full set of used window assemblies that go with her.

These are some pics I got from the previous owner, before I owned her. She's much nicer now.

She is an original Green car (80's repaint) with Black top and Green bucket seat interior with buddy seat.

How many L-code Sport Fury Convertibles were ever built? How many in 1968? How many have you seen? Trim Tag and VIN Tag are original and undisturbed.

She runs great and pulls hard, but the shifts feel loose to me. I have another Big Block TF that goes with her.

This is not a 318 car or even a 383 car, but an original 440HP. C-body cruising just doesn't get much, if any, better!

I don't think you're going to find another like this. I've looked on the internet for a couple years now and I found only one other and it was pretty rough. Ironically, it was the same green w/green interior!

The car is in Connecticut and is priced at $12,000. Less than I have into her, but I have other projects that need my attention. Any questions, email me at XXseposcrapxx@xxhotmail.comxx (delete all the x's).

I hope someone here can give her a good home. I don't want to put her on Craigslist or (God forbid) FleaBay. I received a lot of great help and info from the folks here and I appreciate it more than you know.

Thanks as always,
